A Shining Texas Star

We travel through Amarillo yearly and have stopped at Ohms several times. Texas is beef country and the steaks here do not disappoint! Our service has always been professional and efficient. We had heard Amarillo has a great restaurant but we didn't have any details. Walking down Polk Street, the main drag, we looked confused. A man standing outside a bar, rolling recommended OHMS, and we went. We had one of the best meals ever. Near the top of the menu was organic elk, which was outstanding. A tower of ahi... More

My husband and I were looking for a place to have an early anniversary dinner. I found this place and read some pretty good reviews. Ohms met all of our expectations. It was wonderful! The food was top notch and the service to match. I would highly recommend Ohms to anyone looking for great food, great service, and great atmosphere.

OHMS never fails. Whether it is a business lunch, girlfriend get-together, or a special night on the town, the food and service is top notch. While the shepherd's pie is always a favorite, OHMS offers a variety of entrees with fresh and delectable sides. Don't skip dessert - you will regret it.

This was our third time eating here and we still enjoy the casual atmosphere, service and food. Highly recommend making reservations in advance. We did have a reservation as we were going to the Symphony later so they were ready for us. We started and split the Fried Calamari $14, Caesar Salad $6. For entrée’s I had the steak special... Just around the corner from the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Amarillo, this was a nice find. I had the Elk, my wife had the Filet. My wife found her steak to be cooked perfectly, and raved over the potatoes with her steak. I had the fried egg salad which was a great way to start. I had never had elk,... More

I have to say I'm impressed with this restaurant. I was on a work trip close to Amarillo and ended up booking a hotel after I missed my flight. OHMS cafe was pretty close to my hotel and due to the great ratings I gave it a shot. Result is: One of the best beef steak I've ever had in... More

I was looking for something in Amarillo that wasn't a steak and potatoes place or heavy fried food. OHMs Cafe met that criteria for dinner. It appeared to be an older building that was converted into a restaurant. Painted tin ceilings and hardwood floors create a nice ambiance. Lots of tables not too close together and you can even hear... More

Ohms for lunch was tasty. Had the baked chicken, salad and sliced Italian bread with butter. Other sides were black beans(tasted out of the can) and some very uninteresting thin spaghetti with parsley flakes. Meals for lunch are served cafeteria style. No atmosphere and very dated appearance. Lunch crowd seems to be workers from the office buildings in downtown Amarillo.... More

Love the atmosphere. Service was painfully slow. Order was wrong and when food finally did come out, it was cold and inedible. Really wanted to like this place.
