Very good experience

We drive I-40 through this area quite a bit and usually try to stop at Tacos Garcia. It’s easy on/off I-40 with ample parking. Once inside you’ll find you have to wait (usually not a very long time and I’d say it’s worth it). Once seated, the salsa (three ‘flavors’: mild, hot, and reallllly hot... read more

Read the reviews here and decided to go based on a rec from the hotel I stayed at. I was surprised at the number of people that thought the food was not authentic. I found several authentic options on the menu and gave the Puerco Chile Verde a try. Delish! If you want something authentic then try something authentic (ie...... More

My family likes to eat out every once in a while and the favorite place to go is Tacos Garcia. For over 20 years we have enjoyed the atmosphere, the food, and the great staff. Please take an opportunity and go to our favorite place. You will not be disappointed.

We eat here each time we come to town. It is authentic Mexican as you find it in the Panhandle. After all, you have to serve what the customers will eat. The queso and hot sauces are good all worth trying. A varied menu gives our entire party a selection each person likes. The service and food are consistently good.... More

Ordered the fish tacos...arrived dry without sauce or dressing? Tasted somewhat leftover. A green rice was served alongside w/ shredded lettuce and diced tomato. The Chili con Queso w/ ground meat was just that. Melted American with some hamburger dumped on top. I added salsa for flavor...Huuuummmmm. Not impressed at this point. My sister's experience was better, She ordered outside... More

Lunch was your basic Mexican menu but was so flavorful and yummy! The service was great and it feels like a cute little family business. 😍 We would definitely come back!

I come here anytime I am in Amarillo visiting family. Food is consistently good. Service has always been great. I saw the reviews and they describe it as "Tex-mex" which is true. But it is good and reasonable.

We were told to try this place by a friend who likes their food. We were very disappointed with the food and with the service. Took forever To get waited on once we sat down. Wait staff seemed too busy playing and talking with one another to take care of customers. Once the food arrived it was cold overall. Tasted... More

Stopped in here for lunch on our way to Phoenix... Reviews said the food was authentic Mexican. Mmmmm, not really! The food was decent... But really was an American version of Mexican. Was looking for more authentic fresh flavors I've come to love in a true Mexican cooking. The spice just wasn't there. Having Mexican friends spoils a person!

Food was wonderful, friendly service seems like a place the locals visit; everyone was very nice. We had the New Mexican-style enchiladas which were very good, with both red & green sauce. There was a live band playing out on the patio, very festive locale.
