While there are many options, I ordered the Chicken Burrito lunch special and was not disappointed. The meal started out with chips and 3 different salsas plus a queso dip. The green stuff was spicy, but the dark red salsa was my favorite. The burrito was loaded with seasoned grilled chicken, cheese and beans with a nice side of lettuce... More

Typical Tex-Mex. The restaurant itself is nicely done and atmosphere good. Service was a bit on the slow side. I enjoyed the food but it's nothing special or unique.

This is the best place for Mexican food in the Texas Panhandle....or even better than any place in Dallas or Fort Worth...the fresh salsa is awesome.

The food had a good taste but it was not very warm a little on the cold side needed to stay on the stove a little longer. They need to ask you what kind of salsas you wont red or green one of the red ones is not very good it is the light red one. The rellenos were very... More

Tacos Garcia was recommended to us and our dining experience was tasty! We immediately loved the quiet dining room, and our server, Rene, was helpful, friendly, and accommodating. My husband had a frozen margarita that he devoured, and I had an icy Negra Modelo that was on tap. Now for the food! I had the EL Tampico which was delicious... More

I don't live in Amarillo, but every time I come to town for a visit, I HAVE to go to Tacos Garcia. They have, hands down, the best chile rellenos I have EVER had. I wish Mexican food in California was as good as it is here. It is definitely the place that I compare all Mexican restaurants to now.... More

My husband and I are travelling in an RV through the SW States. Part of what we're looking forward to it the local cuisine. After shopping at Amigo's grocery in Amarillo we decided Mexican food was in order for lunch. We stopped in at Tacos Garcia; wait staff was very friendly. We ordered the El Monterrey platter which was enough... More

As part of our cross country journey, we stopped in Amarillo, Texas and ate lunch at Tacos Garcia. Service was fast and excellent. The restaurant was very busy and now we know why. I had the El Tampico platter, which was a trio that consists of one grilled chicken faluta topped with salsa espanola, one beef chile relleno topped with... More

We arrived at the restaurant at about 8:15 on a Wednesday night and had to wait for about 1/2 hour for a table for two. It was no problem for us because we decided to have a cocktail but if your time is limited - get a reservation. The restaurant has a nice setting with the Mexican flair. Most entrees... More
