We stopped in search for something other than fast food on our road trip to CA. A bit light menu selection for vegetarians in our family, but we are in Texas. The pulled pork and slaw was extremely good and the gelato excellent. Mixed the chocolate with the Nutter Butter Crunch - holy cow. Also excellent shopping nearby - a... More

I have been wanting to try this place for some time. I took my kids for lunch. The food was fabulous, and the staff was extremely nice. I had the Portobello mushroom burger, the kids had pulled pork sandwiches. We all had gelato for dessert. It was excellent. This is a great place to eat when shopping the antique stores... More

We were on an antiques hunt in this Historic Route 66 one mile strip and stopped in here for lunch. Boy, I'm glad we did. The atmosphere feels authentic Texan, the sort of place the locals go to. The frito pie I had with pulled pork and cheese was delicious and plentiful. The burger with slaw equally yummy. And the... More

On a roadtrip along Route 66, a friend insisted that we stop in to see Cody Anderson's little ice cream shop - Cowboy Gelato. The gelato was fantastic . . . but wait, there's more. Frito pie. Incredible burgers. And, recently added - live music. Cody's bringing in all kinds of local talent - and they're good . . .... More

The exterior isn't very impressive & neither is in the interior. However, the staff is super friendly & the prices are excellent. The pecan pie gelato is superb. We ordered a barbecue sandwich plate & a rib plate. The barbecue sandwich had enough meat on it for 3 sandwiches & was fabulous. It came with a side of their special... More

Parking was nonexistent. Finally parked on a cross street two blocks away. Small place, great gelato. Many interesting flavors. Mexican vanilla, pecan pie, Irish cream, Shiner, strawberry habanero, chocolate chip, etc. Unfortunately, I started by sampling the flavor called 4 Horsemen which included four types of hot pepper. When I left the shop after finishing my scoop of Irish cream,... More

We ended up here by default really. After driving around on Valentines evening, and not finding anywhere that was not packed, we spotted Cowboy Gelato. My wife had eaten there before a couple years back and had not had a chance to try it again. The service was excellent, and the food was very good. I had chicken tenders (original... More

I have had gelato at this ice cream parlor twice and was impressed with it both times. It's a pretty good deal--the scoops are large and you get two for 2.99 or three for 3.99. The flavors were creative and not necessarily ones that you'd find at every other ice cream parlor. I also had a very hearty sandwich there... More

Best kept secret in Amarillo. After enjoying brisket at Tyler's head on over to old Route 66 for some cool live tunes and even cooler gelato. We stopped in on a Tuesday evening and there was live music by ____. Enjoyed it immensely

As always, we enjoyed our dinner here but much of that was a result of the fact that we were dining with friends. The food is good but not the best, prices are fair, and the gelato excellent. However, upkeep is needed and the bathrooms were ....
