I travel alone quite a bit and The Salt Grass was a great choice for dinner. The food was consistent - just like the one at home and the service at the bar was very friendly. I needed to work on e-emails and notes and felt very comfortable working and eating. Service was great - food was great - made... More

Close to hotels in the nearby hotel corridor. This restaurant and many others are almost in walking distance from many hotels. Decor was western. Staff was friendly. Prices were possibly a little high for a casual worn out traveler. Probably a $$-$$$ in my mind. There are many places to choose from in the area. Maybe just look for the... More

Saltgrass is one of the ubiquitous steak houses you find in Amarillo, but they're a cut above the rest. Service was prompt, and the waiter very knowledgable regarding the menu, defining what you would get, for instance, if you ordered your steak rare ("cool, red center") and giving a recommendation from the menu with a full description of how the... We stopped in Amarillo over night and found The Saltgrass restaurant. We wanted to go to a steakhouse and read good reviews so decided to try it. We were not disappointed. Service was good and the steaks were cooked as ordered. We all enjoyed our meals. It was fun to look around the restaurant at the decor---very Texas! Very good... More

Saltgrass does a consistent job of good food and good service. After a long day on the road, we decided that we named a steak. Saltgrass was a very good choice! The salads were fresh and good. The strips we cooked to order and the quality was very good. The service by everyone in the restaurant was excellent.

Have been to several Saltgrass restaurants around Texas. This was like the others. Good food, nice service, reasonably priced. The kids enjoyed the kid's menu and of course the ice cream sundae after dinner. Worth going back.

Amazing steak and great service. A Texas highway patrol office suggested it last time we were in Texas. We ate it an enjoyed. This time it was equally delicious. We even had friends in NM ask us to get them takeout because its their favorite also. Jason our waiter was friendly and accommodating. Our sweet tea never went empty and... More

Just traveling through and wanted a little late dinner. it wasn't overly crowded that late at night luckily. Our waitress was as nice as could be and after my husbands beer didn't come -in over 10 min she offered to buy him the next. It went downhill from there. Our poppers were barely warm and the bread hard and not... More

I've been on the road for the last week around Colorado and this is one of the better meals I've had. Fresh baked bread, ok salad and a great filet. The service was good and we didn't have to wait long and the place was packed on a Saturday night at 7. Will eat here again if I get the... More

This is my family's favorite place to eat! The steaks are incredible and the trimmings perfectly compliment the steak! The bread, served as soon as you order, is wonderful, too! From the appetizers to the desserts, the Saltgrass is a class act. Oh and don't let me forget the bar (the margaritas are great, too)! The wait staff is fully... More
