Good Mexican food

We were directed to La Casita by a pair of locals, and their recommendation was spot-on. We were a little skeptical when pulling up - it is a little off the beaten path in a residential area. We were pleased to discover good service, generous portions of above average food, and cold beer. The queso... read more

La Casita was recommended by a coworker. All I can say is YUM! The outside doesn't look like much....it was a house that's been converted into a restaurant...but the inside is clean, colorful and welcoming. I got there around 4:30, a little early for dinner, but it soon filled up. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was good... More

The food is good every time we eat here which is often. This is the favorite of the locals and for good reason. Service is excellent.

This is the worst place I have ever eaten--the food was awful, the staff was rude. That is the truth and nothing but the truth!

We stopped at La Casita in Alpine for lunch prior to going to Big Bend National Park. Don't be discouraged by the location (south of US 90 on a dirt street) as the food was very good. It was very busy during the lunch hour, but the service was very good. We both ordered the enchilada plate and felt they... More

The enchiladas and the campachanas were very good. The rice is not very good to me. Was a little dissappointed that I had to pay 1.50$ for 2 Tortillas as most restaraunts give them to you with a meal.( And tasted like taco bell flour tortillas). But the food in general was pretty decent. Didnt mind that they only took... More

I've been eating here for years. Restaurants come and go in Alpine all the time. I'm so glad this place is still around. When I lived here, this is the one place in town that visitors had to visit for a meal. We were in town last week, and had the chance to eat here for lunch. Got there about... More

Love this place! Doesn't take credit cards, so bring cash, but you won't need much cash because it's pretty reasonably priced. We always eat here when in Alpine. The guadalahara is my favorite selection, but they have all the usual...tacos, enchiladas, burritos, etc. You can get a beer here too if you want.

Tasty and a great value. We prefer Mexican food over Tex-Mex. Still a great value and tasty option. Huge portion. It's true that's everything is big in Texas.
