Well worth the drive!

Went to Alpine on a day trip, mainly to eat at The Reata. It is well worth the drive. Perfect time of year the wildflowers are blooming and it was a beautiful 65 degrees. We sat on the patio under and enjoyed the beautiful murals. We had a wonderful waitress, Austin. She was able to give us the... read more

It started with my buddy and I wanting a beer/glass-of-wine. There is no drink "menu" and we were immediately seated near the front, so seeing "if" they had a bar/adult beverages wasn't an option. When our waitress asked what we wanted to drink, my friend asked, "well, what do you have?" Easy right? And she replies with, "We have soft... More

We visited the Reata in a wim. I am glad we did. Old world charm, well trained and friendly staff, good food, excellent desserts, nice patio. We will be back.

We ordered a double pork chop to share, it was two thin cutlets only one with a bone. OK food for Alpine, there were not many choices of good restaurants in Alpine.

Lunch at the Reata had a packed crowd but service was fast. I had the chicken salad with fresh veggies and chunk fried chicken. If you like grits, they have them!

Our family took a trip to the Davis Mountains and couldn't wait to make the short drive from Fort Davis to Alpine. I was excited to try the original Reata Restaurant because I've never been to the one in Fort Worth. The food was amazing! We shared the field greens salad for an appetizer and I had the carne asada... More

We’d eaten at the Reata in Fort Worth so had to try the original restaurant in Alpine during our Big Bend trip. We weren’t disappointed. The reception and wait staff were happy, bubbly, and extremely attentive. The decoration was western in nature and included a large hand-painted copy of a Frederic Remington painting. The food was excellent; high-end cowboy in... More

Fantastic food, great atmosphere and delish cocktails! Service was excellent. Made reservations through open table to make sure we would be able to eat there during our trip and was very glad I did! Best meal we had in Alpine by far!
