Bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer was cooked perfectly. $10 for 3 shrimp. Served with onion relish and pico de gallo. Nothing was bad but it seemed like three pieces that didn't go together. Jalapeño cilantro soup was creamy spicy good, no complaints there. I ordered my filet ($35) mid rare and got mid well, which is fine but it was swimming... More

This was our favorite restaurant that we ate at during our two week visit to Texas. We had Carne Asada With reata's cheese enchiladas during lunch. It was delicious, we had great service and enjoyed our visit. We will return when are visiting again.

Food pretty mediocre. Service ok. Hostess a bit rude. Drinks weak so stick to wine or spring for doubles. Went to see music during viva big bend. Unfortunately least exciting meal of our trip..Prob will skip when in town next ..

We had a perfect early dinner at The Reata. The hostess was very considerate to seat us in the bar away from a couple of loud family parties. The bar tender mixed two perfect Old Fashioneds, after asking for our choice of bourbons as they were out of rye whiskey. How wonderful to find a skilled and very knowledgeable mixologist.... More

Reata is a very western, yet classy place. The food is great and the rustic feel of w ranch house is awesome. I had the ribeye one night, and the chicken fried steak another. Both were good, along with the good service provided by our waitress. If in Alpine, check it out.

We had a party of six. The service was excellent, the food was very good and the atmosphere was classic. Over the years have eaten at the Reata several times and it has been consistently very good and I highly recommend it.

On a recent trip to Alpine we stopped and ate lunch at Reata and it was really a treat. The restaurant is located in a old home built in the late 1800's and restored really nice. My wife had the Citrus Chicken and I have the chicken fried steak. Both was very good, well prepared and quality ingredients. The service... More

Great food, wonderful selections and good service. Thoroughly enjoyed it. This place fits with the town. It is popular among locals and visitors. You won't be disappointed. Have lunch and walk around town and visit the shops and the bookstore. The area has a great feel to it.

The food was good but not spectacular, which one expected after reading all the hype. Receptionist was a bit snobby asking about reservations. We were seated outside and had to compete with flies for the food.
