Excellence in a small town

Original Reata! This restaurant is so quaint and cozy. We got to sit in the first room, right by the fireplace and it was very enjoyable. Our waitress was attentive and had a great personality. We had a great date night out while visiting. Great wine selection

The food was mediocre but there was a lot of it...if that is what appeals to you. The waiter was indifferent and not very helpful. We had read the reviews and were looking forward to it. I had the shrimp enchiladas which were okay and my husband had the chicken fried steak that was drowned in a tasteless gravy. Maybe... More

The restaurant is in a home that I guess was built around the turn of the last century. It was warm and inviting. The food is southwestern, the portions are large (we each brought home a doggy bag), very good, and not super expensive.

The Reata is in what I think was an old home, fireplaces were blazing, outside mural was wonderful. Food was great. Service very good. Definitely will return, would like to do dinner there sometime in the summer so I can sit outside.

Had lunch here on a weekday... Had the Carne Asada & it was awesome. Wife had a burger & it was also awesome. Great service & great atmosphere... Oh! The desserts are to die for.

It's not surprising that there is a more metropolitan version of this restaurant in Fort Worth, which is also noteworthy. A good friend of mine recommended this restaurant and was spot on. Truly a gourmet experience in a surprisingly isolated little town. The smoked mozzarella pasta dish was to die for and the tilapia was outstanding, especially for the area.... More

This little charming restaurant, in a former home cottage, proved to be a winner. We came through Alpine last year and this year, at this same time, weather terrible, and the staff and chef pulled off dinner service well and professionally. We enjoyed the Chicken Fried Steak, Jalepeno Bacon Macaroni (yes, as an entree n it's own skillet), wedge salad... More

Food was well above average and the service was very good. I would consider it to be a very consistent restaurant that you can count on for a nice dinner

Excellent food and very professional service at lunch both days. Not cheap but food is hot and tasty and comes out quickly. Amazing variety on menu. A warm and cozy oasis in the freezing fog of Alpine in winter.
