Whenever we are in Allen, we go for the chicken here. Good quality, great taste and healthier compared to fried chicken. My personal favourite is chicken with Kettle Chips and Black Beans. Yummy! The staff is friendly and courteous, the overall atmosphere is nice with big glassfronts to the street. You also have a full view into the wood-fired grill.... More

The chicken is always perfectly done and really tender. The sides are delicious. We have never had to wait for a table. This is one of our go-to places with the family when we are in the area. Very convenient if attending a game at the Allen Event Center (walkable distance).

Cowboy chicken is a great restaurant for those wanting quality chicken that is quick and cheap. The restaurant is nice and has a very nice atmosphere with a great wood fired smell. Of particular deliciousness are sides such as the green beans and fried okra.

If you like roasted, tender, tasty chicken cooked over an open fire you'll love Cowboy Chicken. It is so very tender and tasty it almost melts in your mouth plus the yummy vegetables and the great cobbler with ice cream for your dessert. You stand in line to order but attendants bring it to your table. Great eating at a... More

Now the setting is very "Barbecue-ish", but the food is really good. The chicken is done rotisserie style, but it is cooked with real wood, making a great tasting meal. Not only is the chicken good, but the sides are as well. Not your typical frozen out of the box sides. Even the cobbler is very good.

Nice, casual, family-oriented, counter style restaurant that specializes in rotisserie-style chicken. The place has been written up inthe NY Times as being a top bbq chicken joint, and definitely fits the bill. The prices are very family friendly and the sides, which range from fried okra to twice baked mashed potatoes, are very good. Simply put, if you're looking for... More

The place was crowded, but orders were processed quickly and food was well prepared. It is mostly a younger crowd, and pretty noisy. It is a good value for a quick meal.

they have a gluten free menu...Yea!!! The manager Sabrina is very knowledgeable about her menu items and all staff are extremely courteous, even during the lunch rush. Had enchiladas and they explained to me how they were gluten free. Very good chicken enchiladas plus Spanish rice and beans. Even advised me regarding portions. Will eat there again, I'm now a... WoW what a great place for casual dinning. Great chicken, great sides, and good speed to the table. Friendly for kids. Once you have eaten Cowboy Chicken you have set a new standard for what fire roasted spit chicken is all about. Not really any issues about this restaurant, but just short of a 5. I would recommend to anyone... More

The only thing keeping me from giving this place 5 stars was the cleanliness. It wasn't very busy when we visited yet the staff could not clear dirty plates from the tables and there was food on the floor very close to where we were sitting. When our food was brought to us, the guy (Manager I think) actually stepped... More
