Incredible food

They have some of the best seafood. The only problem is it is very smokey even at lunch. It is a hidden jewel because you would not even know it is there. Their burgers are really good.

My only regret in dining here was that I didn't know it was only 3/10 of a mile from my hotel until the last night I was in Addison. When I saw an online listing for them that showed plates of peel and eat crawfish I knew I had to go. I really didn't expect them to have peel and... More

If you want to open the door to a smoke-filled dive bar this is the place for you. In spite of being slapped in the face with cigarette smoke upon my entry I gave it a try to find a seat. I had heard that the food was great. I even asked someone there where to sit and they gave... More

FOOD here is so so. This is more/ less a chain resturant. The fish is sub par and the shrimp is too. I did enjoy the gumbo and the jambalya

An original dive bar and cajun food joint on corner of Greenville and Lovers. Cold beers, good food, reasonable prices, and colorful crowd. Loud music, graffiti walls, and sports on TV. Indoor and outdoor seating. Last time we were there someone brought their kid - not that kind of place!

Not that I have Never been here before, but That, it is so darn Good Each time. If you are a smoker, it is even better for you (this is actually Addison, so Smoking is Allowed). Non Smoker's, Chose Your Battles; I am a Non Smoker and although to many customers smokking at one time does bother me and I... More

Went to the original location on Lovers Lane today but was incredibly disappointed. Crawfish are in season again but $9.00/pound? Clearly the ownership has a crack problem for being a roadside dive. The service stunk once she saw I wasn't drinking, and so did the Shuck N' Jive platter for $15.00. I tried to order fried pickles as an appetizer... More

I have to admit, I was out after bed time and just wanted a bite to eat. Shuck N Jive is a place with character that serves great food late at night. And the great thing is it has a common door with "Memphis" which typically has some fantastic live music going on. The band at Memphis is literally right... More

This place was small and cool, the patrons were regulars and a few visitors. A little pricey, but the food was good except the gumbo I cant believe they called that gumbo. Hey I'm a Nola native I know gumbo and that was not it. Other than that a pretty cool place for grown-ups. I'd go again for sure.

I grew up in Houston eating our neighboring states' cuisine of Cajun and Creole. I am by no means on expert but have lots of experience with it. I've been twice to Shuck N Jive. Most recently, I was disappointed with the 2 dishes I ordered: - gumbo: the key to good gumbo is a well cooked rue (broth) that... More
