The Dixie Pig has been around forever, and very little has changed! It's a great breakfast spot for down home country cooking! If you love ham, biscuits (made from scratch) & gravy you can't go wrong. They still have a "plate lunch" special that's a quick meal and good value. If you want to get the feel for the local... As we came through the door, the server said to go to a booth in the corner; as we approached it we saw it was dirty. We had to ask for it to be cleaned. During the drink order, server said, "we're out of chocolate milk." Menu said breakfast available after 11:30 for $.50 charge. We wanted breakfast but server... More

This is an old fashsion diner that some of the old time waitresses still work there I think. Nothing to rave about, food is average and to me a bit over priced. Nothing different than you can cook on a Saturday morning yourself.

The Dixie Pig has been around longer than most of us have been alive. It is a local Abilene landmark and worth the trip. They are only open for breakfast and lunch and do not take credit cards. Barbara is the owner and loves everyone who comes to visit. The scratch made biscuits are to die for and breakfast is... More

No one can deny that the Dixie Pig has stood the test of time and hardship, but even through hard times they have continued to offer great service and wonderful breakfast and lunch. They will be around for years to come.

Its ok for the price. Not my favorite place for breakfast though. The first time I went it was really yummy and the food was cooked well. The second time I went I was pretty disappointed. My pancakes were hard from being overcooked and the coffee tasted like it was a day old.

The portions are huge and very filling! The staff is very welcoming. Although it's quite packed, it's well worth waiting for! We'll be going back!

We always loved the Dixie Pig when I was stationed in Abilene. A local favorite with good food/coffee and even better stories from the norms...ie..old men who eat there everyday. It is a great and comfortable local institutions.

Been over three decades since we were back in this part of the state and thought we would give the Dixie Pig a visit as we ate there a lot as kids. Love the silly pig decor - very campy fun. The place is old but that adds to the fun going in to such a place. Quick service even... More
