I love this place!!

I'm gonna be honest and say that I've been coming here since I was a small child and have a bias. But, anytime I ask mr family if they want to go there it's a unanimous, YES. The only cons are they close really early. If your not up and ready for breakfast or early lunch they will be closed.... read more

If you can get up early enough, and you want some cheap homemade breakfast food, this is the place. Personally, i think it has a little too much hype. I wouldn't call it amazing, but it's pretty good.

I have been coming to Abilene for 18 years. Same time in January every year. This year I came in a day early on my own mainly because I wanted to branch out and have something other than the delicious Texas Barbeque. Dixie Pig as I understand has been around since 1941 in this location. It has all the atmosphere... More

this is an older establishment. Served troops from Camp Barkeley in WW II. Good eats and reasonable!

The food portions were large, the eggs cook just as I like. Coffee flowed just like the movies show American diners. The service was swift , friendly and attentive.it was authentic hospitality and as a visitor - just like I expected

If you want an experience of an old classic diner, with counter service or booth service, this is the place. You get basic meal menu items, cooked in diner tradition, served no-frills, but at a very reasonable price. I can think of more than a dozen friends who have a weekly meal here, whether, breakfast or lunch. Our kids love... More

The Dixie Pig has been around forever, and very little has changed! It's a great breakfast spot for down home country cooking! If you love ham, biscuits (made from scratch) & gravy you can't go wrong. They still have a "plate lunch" special that's a quick meal and good value. If you want to get the feel for the local... As we came through the door, the server said to go to a booth in the corner; as we approached it we saw it was dirty. We had to ask for it to be cleaned. During the drink order, server said, "we're out of chocolate milk." Menu said breakfast available after 11:30 for $.50 charge. We wanted breakfast but server... More

This is an old fashsion diner that some of the old time waitresses still work there I think. Nothing to rave about, food is average and to me a bit over priced. Nothing different than you can cook on a Saturday morning yourself.

The Dixie Pig has been around longer than most of us have been alive. It is a local Abilene landmark and worth the trip. They are only open for breakfast and lunch and do not take credit cards. Barbara is the owner and loves everyone who comes to visit. The scratch made biscuits are to die for and breakfast is... More
