Good as usual

Being a chain you know what to expect in the way of food. The service is very good here too. This was a very pleasant visit with good food and good service. What else do you need?

What is happening to Cracker Barrel? The service was terrible, and the food was even worse. You never even see a manager anymore.

We visited some Cracker Barrel Restaurants when we travelled through the US south states. We always liked the food, the design of the restaurants, the friendlyness of the staff and the prices. We are now on a trip around Texas and visited another Cracker Barrel in Abilene after 20 years. It's like a flash back. Everything is exactly as it... More

The food was good, until we found bits of plastic packaging in the white gravy. The waiter was very apologetic and he was fine, we were able to get that entree off our bill, but the manager did not even come over to say anything, and let the waiter do the dirty work. Very disappointing.

The service and food was awesome! The waitress went out of her way to help my kids surprise me with a special desert for my birthday.

While service may vary from location to location, the food offerings are consistent throughout locations. This location has not disappointed in level of service. The shopping is part nostalgia, part holiday oriented, part travel fun for kids, and includes a little something for everyone.

Generally, a good, hearty "comfort food" breakfast with biscuits, sausage, eggs needs a good cream gravy to make it top shelf. Sadly, Cracker Barrel, or at least the one in Abilene has the nastiest tasting cream gravy, and that really spoils it for me. I would describe the taste being cream gravy flavored with artificial bacon bits. Yuck! If they... More
