We went on the recommendation of a friend when on vacation in October. The food overall was excellent++, and at good prices. We got there about 5:15 & were seated right away, but by 5:45 people had to wait. Portions were more than adequate and the service was excellent. Desserts were fabulous. The only thing we didn't like were the... more

A good place to get fried seafood and country sides. The kitchen talent is a little inconsistent on some things but not on the aforementioned items. Service is friendly but it's gets very busy so chill out and don't be in any hurry. Truly the only above average place to eat on Hwy 17 between Georgetown, SC and Mt. Pleasant,... more

Went back to Seewee since we were in the area. Lunch was VERY good. When we asked to take home "leftovers" (so we could save room for dessert), they brought us an entire, fresh order of hushpuppies to enjoy at home along with our tidbits. For dessert, we tried the German Chocolate cake and the Caramel cake. Both were amazingly... more

My shrimp "basket" had 8 small-ish shrimp, and so did my wife's. The "fried okra" was deep fried, not fried, and very scanty. The side bowl of sweet potato casarole was old, stiff and tasteless. We expected a casual, low-country atmosphere and that we got. But the problem was that a $10 lunch order ought to contain more than 8... more

From looking over the reviews I expected much better. The food was ok. Service was inattentive and slow (my water glass was not refilled the entire meal). As far as atmosphere, we sat out on the back "patio" and water dripped through the roof several times on one of us. Oh and my husband got sick later after eating the... more

As a seafood loving traveler, I tend to rate the cities I visit based on the quality of their seafood. The Seewee Restaurant helped make Charleston make the list of places I'd be willing to live. I heard about the restaurant from the Moon Travel guide. I expected good, fresh seafood, but I was completely blown away by the meal... more

We were driving from Oak Island NC to Daniel Island SC. and Mr. Kelly suggested we eat an early "summer supper" at See Wee Restaurant. He had eaten there once before. Our waitress was prompt, very courteous and informative. I inquired if the greens were cooked with pork, affirmative. I had a dinner salad, steamed squash, sweet potato fries and... more

I've lived in the area for a while now and always had the wrong idea of the Seewee Restaurant. From the outside, it looks like it would be a smoky bar and I had never considered walking in there by myself. Now I feel foolish, since we ate there tonight. First of all, the place was huge inside - never... more

While visiting Charleston, we ask a local for a suggestion on a restaurant. We were ask to try the SeeWee Restaurant. It is located about 15 minutes outside of Charleston on 17. We were traveling back to Myrtle Beach, so it was on our way. When we found the place, we had seconds thoughts of going in. It is by... more
