CONSISTENTLY EXCELLENT SEAFOOD

Located north of Mt Pleasant on US 17 this is a restaurant that has remained excellent over many many years. On this revisit we had the whole fried flounder with mac and cheese and Lima beans. Fried local shrimp with onion rings. The shrimp was a senior meal meaning one side instead of 3 sides... read more

Made reservations at Morgan Creek but was worried about the negative comments. After reading about Seewee Restaurant, we quickly cancelled and made the short drive (20 min) from our Condo. Best decision ever!! It doesn't look like much outside and inside is rustic at best but the food was ridiculously delicious. We both had the she-crab soup and seafood platter.... More

Seawee is in the town of Awendaw, SC about 35 - 40 minutes from downtown Charleston or 15 minutes from Mount Pleasant. It is in the middle of a very rural area but pack people in for dinner and lunch. Rustic is being generous. Window A/C, checkered tablecloth over unmatched tables. Large portions for $20 - 30. If you are... More

I’m always looking for “authentic” dining experiences for visitors to the Lowcountry and this is my current favorite. It’s part picnic, part café, part Grandma’s . . . a lot of different things. To say it’s rustic is an understatement. You may think by the looks of the place that the locals will gawk at you as outsiders, but you’ll... More

We ate in the new section and the air was a little stiff from the fans, but the food was superb. I got fried shrimp with mac & cheese, slaw and potato salad. The food was excellent. The atmosphere is really neat. We have eaten there several time and it seems the food and fun get better each time.

This place was recommended by some locals and upon driving up the parking lot was packed and we thought we had found a gem. Unfortunately, our service was terrible and no amount of good food can make up for that. We received cold hush puppies and when we asked for some butter we were given three pats, for a party... The main dishes we had were excellent! I had flounder done "Seewee" style, others had the crab cakes and bacon fried green tomatoes poor boy. The sides: fries, red rice, mashed potatoes, green beans were ordinary. Service was attentive and friendly. The hush puppies at the start were also excellent.

Going back to Georgetown and became hungry and came to Yelp for suggestions. So thankful that I did. Made a quick u-turn and came to the laid back place. The fish sandwich was so yummy & my friend had the shrimp po'boy and she crab soup! If I lived in the area this would be my go to spot.

This great little restaurant is about twenty-five miles from my home, but I travel there at least once a month to eat! They always have fresh seafood and I just got to have the fried green tomatoes. An oyster basket (oysters and two sides) is only $10.95 at lunch. I love to have the fried mushrooms and fried green tomatoes... More

We drive 80 miles for lunch here. Worth every mile. We just love the simple feel and warm atmosphere. Can't wait to eat those fried shrimp again. Will save room for dessert hopefully this time.
