My family and I make the journey to Seewee Restaurant every year while vacationing on Isle of Palms, SC. The trip from IOP to Awendaw is about 25 minutes. Once you escape the big-box stores along Highway 17, you drive through the beautiful SC Lowcountry before arriving at Seewees. As other reviews have mentioned, the seafood is off-the boat fresh,... Stopped in here while out on the bike for a weekend stroll. It was July 4th and my usual seafood restraunt was closed for the holiday. So i gave Seewee a shot. So glsd I did. The shrimp was so fresh i expected to see it move. The food at Seewee is phenominal. The atmosphere will take you back to... More

Living 60 miles north of Charleston, I make the trip quite frequently. The absolute best restaurant along the way is Seewee...I stop to have lunch almost every time I make the trip. If you want to experience authentic Southern cuisine, this is a must stop.

We had a party of 14 at this quaint roadhouse eatery. Among our party, we all agreed that it was not the best meal we had during this vacation, but IT WAS an adventure. The staff and waitresses' vocabulary are full of the richness you envision for a low country roadhouse. Lots of " huns", "dears", " babes" and good-natured... More

A friend had recommended Seewee while we were vacationing in Isle of Palms so we drove out to Awendaw to check it out (about 10 miles N or Hwy17/517 intersection. This place is colorful to say the least and has quite a storied past (printed on the menus)- the food was outstanding! We arrived for a late lunch (2:30pm) and... More

We stopped here on our way from Myrtle Beach to Charleston. It's directly on Highway 17 about 15-20 miles north of Charleston. It doesn't look like much from the outside maybe, but the moment you walk through the door you are thrown back into time. You are greeted with a very friendly "hello y'all" and are escorted to your table.... More

We popped in here on the way back from Myrtle Beach to Charleston for lunch, having been told to wait 20 mins for a table at the mediocre Big Tuna in Georgetown. Wow, was that 40 minutes it took us to get there worth every second! Fried shrimp here is the best we have had anywhere, you can tell it... More

Seewee Restaurant is about 8 miles up 17N from Mt. Pleasant. They have great seafood in this old general store. You have to get there early to get a seat or you will be waiting. They do not take reservations so it is first come, first served. The portions are huge and the price is very good. A lot of... More

Ok so the food AMAZING! OH MAN. The ambiance was great. The history was on the menu - also great. We ordered a cheeseburger & fried pork chop for the kids. They loved it. The adults ordered fried shrimp and seewee grilled whitefish. The sides are amazing and the desserts - YES! Everything is homemade. The reason it's not 5... More
