Local place

This is a out of the way local place if you are in charleston don't miss it not a tourist trap like a lot of the places downtown. Good fresh seafood at a fair price. It's about 10 miles out of my. Pleasant but worth the trip.

My wife & I stopped by for a late lunch & we were blown away!! The decor is a combination of old Southern artifacts in a renovated market, built in 1920. We had she crab soup which was as good as I have ever had. The hushpuppies are superb. I had a lunch platter of shrimp, flounder & oysters, which... More

After miles and miles of no bathroom and a very full bladder, Seewee's outside bathrooms were a Godsend! Thank you Seewee!

First ate here in 1987 and usually stop each time we go to Charleston from North Myrtle Beach. It is on US 17 on the right going southbound. It doesn't look like much, but the food is excellent as is the service. You'll be impressed!

A must stop along route 17 between Charleston and Myrtle Beach, SC. Historic old restaurant could just as well be nestled in the salt marsh instead of along a major highway. "Rustic" is putting it mildly, with rough wood floors, screened porch, outdoor picnic tables beneath the trees and closet size restrooms around the opposite side. BUT, and as you... More

A bit run down, can eat outside with your dog, bathrooms are not great and outside. Excellent lightly breaded fried green tomatoes, shrimp and oysters. Okra was done In same batter but should be in cornmeal, free hushpuppies are big and made with little or no cornmeal. Though it didn't seem to be very busy, our Service was horrible, we... More

Like a previous reviewer I would give Seewee a 3.5. The seafood was good, the sides even better. Great fried tomatoes & fried okra, especially with their homemade remoulade sauce. I know the decor is supposed to add charm, but to me, Seewee seemed a little run down and the food pricey for the setting. Only two window A/C units... More

This restaurant looks like an old rural community grocery store, which it was. Awendaw and Seewee is about a 12 miles up US 17 from Boone Hall plantation. It is not a long drive, but seems FAR from tourist-infested Charleston. We got there as a party of four at about 7:30 on a Saturday. There was a table available on... More

My family and I have been eating here for over 15 years. The food is consistently good and the prices are average. Their seafood has a thin, crispy batter and is never greasy. The See Wee Style broiled is my favorite. The hushpuppies and desserts are delish and taste just like your southern grandmother prepared them! The sides are hit... More

Wish I could do half stars. I would do 3.5. I wanted to like it more - I really did. Decor was like grandma's house out in the country so cozy. The history of the place is really neat. Free shush puppies were a bonus. I got the grouper nuggets. There were three. That's it. But they were good -... More
