The Real Deal

Stopped here on a whim. I ordered the brisket burnt ends served as an appetizer, hubby ordered the pulled pork sandwich. We both got slaw. My burnt ends came with fries. They serve grilled buttered Texas toast to the table. The sauces were all good, the hot being our favorite. It had a slow heat to... read more

First time trying a southern style BBQ. Pleasant greeting when we walked in and promptly seated. Coming from Australia and no having eaten here before the waitress Kendall was very helpful explaining the menu and how things worked. Quick friendly service. Drinks arrived promptly followed by tasty toast while we waited for our mains. Didn't have to wait long before... More

We visited this restaurant fairly regularly when we lived nearby. We had not been in a few years, and were craving barbecue while visiting Anderson. I feel that the food has improved, and it was good to start with. I had the brisket while my husband had the chicken. The meant was very tender with good smoky flavor. The homemade... More

Great food, great price, and great service. This is the best bbq in the Anderson area. The plates are enough for two adults to share. Make sure and try the sinful chocolate cake for dessert. Their lunch special is the best value around.

Me and my family walked in and just like always in any restaurant, I asked the waitress what was gluten free as i have celiac disease and she said that nothing was except for the salad. I dont know if you put soy sauce in your barbecue but, every other barbecue place has no problem accommodating me. Highly do not... More

This is a great 'smokey' BBQ restaurant that has really good food and a lot of it. Occasionally the smokeyness gets into the dining room, but that just adds to the ambiance. The plates are large and could be shared by two or eat half and have another meal for the next day. The prices are quite reasonable as well.... More

Not a place for Romance but great for Bbq! Southern bbq and well rounded. Most BBQ joints are strong some where and week to mediocre the others. Creek side has excellent ribs, pulled pork, chicken, wings and sides. The strong point my dear reader friend is certainly the burnt ends it's been 20 plus years since I had an end... More

Lots of smoke in their BBQ. That's the way we do it here in North Carolina. But they have something we don't, STEW. And it's good. Very generous portions and some great deals at lunch. Servers are fast and friendly. We try and stop by whenever we're in the area.

Undoubtedly the BEST "cotton pick 'in" BBQ in the upstate!! Located just off main street behind Kmart right on the creek in an old converted cotton gin / wear house. Very succulent smoked pulled pork BBQ as well as other seasoned meat offerings are on the menu. Large GENEROUS portions of BBQ (you will probably need a "to go" box)... More

We love eating here as a family. The food is always great and the service is fast and pleasant. We always bring boxea home because the portions are very generous. If they have them when you go try the pork nachos or the pork or brisket potato. And their fried pickles are terrific! Informal atmosphere and family and kid friendly.... More
