I've been checking by this restaurant for 2 months. Every time I go by there they are slammed. So I finally did a call in & sent wife & son for their takeout service. The Wilcox is 8 miles from my home & the food I got delivered was exceptionally great. We had Caesar salads for starters. My Entree was... More

While staying at The Willcox recently, my husband and I ate many meals and snacks at the restaurant and bar. Each morning we enjoyed an outstanding breakfast. It is unlike any continental breakfast you can imagine. We especially loved the staff. It was apparent that they all enjoy working together as a team. Each member of the staff (I didn't... More

We ate here for dinner while visiting the hotel. Even though we were late to arrive the nice thing is if you tell them you are guests in the hotel they will get you seated. Menu is extensive and offers some finer things at a good value. Wine list offerings are very reasonable. In short just like eating dinner at... More

Very cordial and friendly atmosphere. Although, one might say a limited menu, it covers all the bases (meat, fish, fowl, veg, etc) and allows the chef to focus on the details. For starters, we always go for the lollipop lamb chops. They are GREAT. I always ask about the soups of the day. They are unique and quite good. Tonight's... More

The Sunday brunch is very reasonably priced and delicious. Reservations are recommended for Friday and Saturday nights, and the dinner is delicious. My husband and I ate and stayed here on our wedding night. The Inn is unmatched in service in Aiken, and strives to meet special needs. Given a week or so of notice, they generally can make anything... More

After an AMAZING visit to the spa I had lunch out by the pool. It was delicious and very creative. Grilled cheese with carmelized onions and creamed corn served with a red cabbage cole slaw. Excellent service, peaceful scene, and perfect after the massage! Will definitely be back!

My wife and I are in Aiken, from England, to visit our son and his family. Yesterday we had a family meal here. As this is a very popular restaurant, we had to wait for a table and spent the time admiring the decor and listening to the pianist on the grand piano. We all had something different and the... More

We just love Aiken, South Carolina. The Willcox is a little like "The Shining" meets Mayberry. It is completely surreal, but also a fantastic, laid-back evening. Our meal was exceptional. Our waiter was cordial, knowledgeable and on queue. The prices were reasonable. The menu was varied enough to please just about anybody. The wine list had one of my slightly... More

This is a favorite spot of ours to hit after dinner. IT's great just to sit in their lobby, at the bar, or to take a drink outside on the porch and sit in a rocker. We will definitely get there for dinner at some point, I understand it is very good.

The historic charm of The Willcox Hotel should be enough to get you in the door. After all, what's good enough for FDR, WInston Churchill & the Vanderbilts, should make you want to see this famous hotel built in the late 19th century for Aiken's Winter Colony folks during the Gilded Age. Now, in the 21st century, standards for this... More
