I love good Italian food, and Travinia is not the place to enjoy it. The waiter was friendly and informative. He checked on us frequently. But the food was not "heated through," which immediately told me it was a pre-prepared "'reheat." The wine choice was good. The mussels were prepared well which I ordered in place of the cool pasta... More

Each experience consisted of horrible food and service. The manager on duty (which seems to vary) had no interaction with waitstaff or customers. They say 'the third time's a charm', but this is my third time and it was awful; once again. The female waitstaff was involuntarily 'harassed' which alarmed me most. Do not, DO NOT go there or you... We arrived for dinner to a half empty restaurant and were told that there would be a 20-25 minute wait. Then the hostess said she would ask the manager if she could seat us....not sure what that was about....maybe because we had an infant with us? Food is overpriced for what it is. Definitely paying for atmosphere here.

I live in Aiken and have eaten at Travinia many many times. The mussels are excellent as are the pasta dishes. I have not had the crab cakes but people do rave about them. Travinia has a very acceptable wine list, too.

Eaten at Travinias on several occasions in Aiken South Carolina , on one particular occasion the only booth available overlooked the entrance to the kitchen . I noticed each time I looked into the kitchen their was little activity and lots of pinging noises reminiscent of things being heated up in microwaves . On another occasion two of our party... More

My husband & I have a house in Aiken that we come to every winter. Due to circumstances, we haven't come down to SC for the last few winters. When it first opened we LOVED it! We were "regulars." The girls on the bar were wonderful and the food was amazing! We went there last month and I'm sad to... More

We've been to Travinia a few times in the past few years, hoping it will get better. It never does. I always test out Italian restaurants by ordering their Eggplant Parmigiana. It was so bad I couldn't even eat it. The red sauce is the worst I've had in many years. For good Italian food in Aiken you can't beat... More

If you are looking for fine dining, Italian cuisine which belongs in NY or Sicily,... well maybe your standards are a bit high (and realistic!) Remember.. this is Aiken, SC. But if you are looking for a fun relaxed environment, classy enough to entertain relatives, clients and friends, enjoy a good beer or wine and have a decent meal, then... More
