Initial visit to 43 Cricket, only to learn it's previous owner called it Gillane's Tavern. This is a new refurbished place with new operators, a clean feel, adequate, but not extensive menu, and a comfortable family feel. With 2 separate main rooms, 43 Cricket offers a community bar, and a family dining room. The evening dinner food was prepared and... More

Our visit to the former Gillane's Tavern was a mixed bag. The main dining room has been remodeled (we didn't go down to the bar area) and is now all booths. The wedge of lettuce was very large and came as ordered with tomatoes and onions. A shepards pie was declared "ok", and the pie of the day with sausage... More

I visited recently, and discovered that there are new owners. The clowns are gone. The décor is neutral. We enjoyed very good sandwiches with good fries and a nice beer selection (craft beers, etc.) It has a slight diner feeling to the restaurant part of it (not really a bad thing, just not really great atmosphere for a hip diner... The bar staff was courteous and prompt. The food was great. A short walk from the Ardmore train station.

Gillane's is a tradition in Ardmore that saw good days years ago and became shabby more recently. Now under new ownership it has had a facelift. They opened up the space, retained but cleaned up the nice dark woody interiors, shined up the bar area and installed great big screen TVs. They got rid of the clown collection which was... More

Sorry to the owners or people who really love this place but this place is a total dive! It's fine as long as you know what you are getting yourself in for.

A great place to eat. Good selection, good sized portions, great prices and very good service. I go often for girlfriend lunches.

Good bar food, and other menu. Two areas in this place - clown theme decorated diner like area, lots of older folks here. Then you have a more rustic college type/bud light type bar with good service and a few clowns still around???? They have fun Irish music and good cover bands on the weekends I've only been there a... More

I can't say anything distinguishes this from another pub; but that's what's nice about it. Very chill atmosphere. Easy to sit with a drink or two for a few hours.

Food was good, but best part was the service, Servers name was Maddie, and next best was the good price. Seafood Bisque was best part of the meal. Great neighborhood place.
