A pleasant BYOB for lunch or dinner

My husband and I both had the Boeuf Bourgignon Grilled Cheese for lunch on our latest visit. We can always count on good service and good food at A la Maison Bistro and this lunch was no exception.

I attended a luncheon at a La Maison this fall and thought it good enough to try again on a Saturday night dinner for 4. We were seated promptly, and our server was attentive, but things fell apart from there. Our table was much to crowded with stuff for 4 adults to sit at. We had to clear our bread... More

Love coming on any excuse. If you pick the correct evening, you can enjoy JAZZ or other music as you dine. In good weather you can dine outdoors. Ah!! the food! My favorite is to succumb to the assortment of house made pates with all the accompaniments of gherkin pickles, country mustard, etc. and a salad (and your own wine,... More

We had an absolutely wonderful experience beginning with the greeting by the hostess. Our server, Mini, couldn't have been nicer, more informative or attentive to our table on a very busy night. The place was packed but everything seemed to go along seamlessly and without any problems. We had a comfortable table in the middle of the main dining room.The... More

I love French bistro food, whether it be in France or here in the USA, or even Sydney or Tokyo. This Ardmore bistro accomplishes its goal of being a charming and festive place to relax with friends or family and eat well -- very well! Our group of 4 enjoyed the charcuterie plate, which had terrific variety and was a... More

The Charcuterie platter was superb with less common cheeses that one sees often enough in France but has to search about here. The saucisson was as good as what we bought in the marches in the Dordogne 2 summers ago. A Grand Bravo - Having lived in Brussels and Paris 6 years, I leave the moules frites to the Flemish/Walloon... More

Am curious the reviews saying it has great French food have actually been to France. The dishes are French in name only and not executed in French culinary style. My mussels and clams were not cleaned properly which is a big failure considering how much they charge. Dish was flavorless and average. For the prices they charge I would go... More

A la Maison has gotten better and better over the years. We love the ambience and enjoy the mussels/frites with a bottle of our Sancerre. Thanks for your attention to detail and hard work to make our dining a special event.

OMG, this place was outstanding. Reminds us of casual cafes we visited in France. The service was perfect, and the food was even better. The staff was helpful, attentive and friendly without being intrusive. We loved the escargot, European bread, salmon and a huge, wonderful bouillabaisse seafood dish. The dessert menu was a bit disappointing as a French restaurant, but... More

We had a very nice family dinner to celebrate a birthday. I tasted the onion soup and it was the best onion soup I have ever eaten. Even better than mine. The salads were all okay and the mussels were fabulous. The bread and the butter were perfect. I had the filet, which I would not order next time. It... More
