The waiter was very good and knowledgable about the menu. It was perhaps the worst food we have ever eaten. The pizzas were cold and beyond recognition. The ravioli and clams tasted the same, actually quite a feat. I think the chef has one big box of bacon, bar-b-que spice in his spice cabinet. Go for the wine.

Though the menu is a little pricey the food was good. The wine list was amazing. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and extremely helpful. The atmosphere is open and elegant. The tuna tartare that we had for appetizer was the best part of the meal! All in all it was a nice night out with a good... More

Four of us were promptly seated at the time of our reservations. We were seated upstairs. The noise level there was energetic on a busy Saturday night. There is a fireplace in the back corner. When we return (and we will!), I will definitely request that! All of us shared a generous cheeseboard with diverse toppings. Three of us happily... More

For locals who like Deterra, my suggestion is you should expand your horizons. In an area of the country known for good restaurants, it is quite easy to find better options, perhaps even in Ambler, itself. Simply charging prices at levels used at good restaurants doesn't make your establishment a good restaurant. On the plus side, the staff was friendly,... More

Held a business team event for happy hour a couple of weeks ago. The staff were terrific, and attentive. the service is much improved over 3 years ago. The food was fantastic thanks to a great kitchen crew. Overall the value for atmosphere, happy hour drinks, appitizers and service was good. This is a high end restaurant, so it was... More

Dettera forever surprises the desire for excellent gourmet selections! I love the changes in the menu from season to season. This time my friend enjoyed their delicious Pumpkin Soup with brown bread delivered by a teapot poured over the soup! Yes! For starters I enjoyed the Hand Rolled Ricotta Cavatelli which was enhanced by Butternut Squash, Pumpkin Seeds, Sage and... More

so i normally don't visit wine bars, except for on business engagements. Walking in, just know this, pricey high-end designed for those people that enjoy that. Every visit they have a different menu, with unique tastes and sides. I found that me being a creature of habit and a "not so unique" palate, didn't fit in here. HOWEVER, they do... More

My wife and I have visited Dettera about a dozen times, by ourselves, with friends, for dinner and just for late night drinks. So far, every trip has been perfect. The menu has some incredible dishes, the service is very good and the atmosphere is always energetic. If you sign up for email notices they will alert you to special... More

We've been to Dettera dozens of times since it opened in 2009. Its menu is always interesting, and the food is delicious. Always a treat. We usually sit at the bar and we each have an appetizer, then split a pizza. The pizzas are fantastic - thin crust with interesting toppings. We've also been here on special occasions and have...
