Great food and service

We visit El Campesinos a few times a year and are always satisfied with the food and service. We've been to Mexican restaurants in several locations throughout the U.S. and this is one of our favorites. One of their best dishes is the chicken with chorizo sausage. The chili relleno is good too... read more

Very good authentic Mexican food. It is not much different than what I can get in San Antonio and that is high praise. If you like good Mexican food this place is a must. Especially in PA.

Great tasting food, just took 40 minutes after placing our order. Not the norm for this restaurant, but was really slow on our last visit. Will return, but not for quite a while. Shrimp tacos were tasty and the chicken mole was delicious!

Very nice food. For all the negative comments I would suggest you have a traditional dish and they offer many. If you want taco bell go to taco bell.

This restaurant reflected the most pedestrian of Mexican chain food. The rice and beans hardly resembled Mexican fare. The enchiladas were filled with chicken, but with sauces that seemed canned. The wait staff disappeared with regularity. Don't bother.

Ate here in March and wasn't impressed, so we didn't return until today. Delicious, hot and yummy! The mole ranchero was some of the best we've ever eaten. Service was quite good and professional. Would return soon, based solely on today's experience.

I've been here once, it is about on par with the Rey Azteca in Johnstown. It has your standard Mexican food. They give you free salsa and chips to go with your meal. Our food was hot and fresh, but it was nothing too exciting. I would come here again if I was in the mood for Mexican food. It... More

Service is average, no better or worse than other Mexican restaurants. It is in their culture to be attentive and fill the bellies of their guests. They do that here. What they excel at though is their Salsa Queso! They have, hands down, the BEST cheese sauce I have ever experienced!

The Best Mexican Restaurant in Altoona we've found in Altoona, but cold food being served? Had a hankering for Mexican so we stopped in Sunday for lunch, seated in bar area with Baron as our waiter. Normally, service is much better but today slowwww. Cheese dip came out after 7-8 minutes, we assumed Baron forgot, but out it came "not... More

My friends and I frequent El Camp after work, especially for happy hour specials. They keep the margaritas coming and at a decent price for happy hour. The queso is AMAZING. The food is real, real chicken, real beef, delicious guac. Definitely hands down my favorite, and really only place, I would recommend for Mexican. Craving it right now just... More
