Great corner restaurant.

Locals love this place. I go for breakfast. The Special-Special is my favorite. I recommend Tom & Joe's to everyone. They are only open for breakfast & lunch. Prices are very reasonable.

My wife and I stopped by this diner to meet a friend. We were very satisfied with the breakfast. I had banana pancakes and my wife had "The Mess", which was eggs and potatoes mixed together with many other options to choose from. The coffee was good. The food is better than the average diner. If you like a loud... More

Average food, great entertainment, and fair prices. All ways worth a visit when you are in downtown Altoona.

For those that don't get it. The sometimes loud and brash waitresses is their shtick. Food is always good and hot. It comes off the grill and to your table in under a minute. Lighten up people. Enjoy the show !

Any time I get into Altoona to visit family I make an effort to have breakfast at this wonderful diner. This is the kind of place where the waitress already knows what the regulars will order and make sure the coffee cup is always full. If you sit at the counter you will get to see your food being cooked.... More

Definite Mom and Pop diner with a standard menu and basic meals. We both had the hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. Very tasty and filling. The coffee wasn't the best but okay. This is a nice local restaurant. Clean and friendly.

If you love diner breakfast, this is the place for you. Definitely order the "mess!" Fresh cut home fries, eggs, meat, and cheese mixed into a pile of yummy! Third generation family place. We met mom and son today. Nickel jukeboxes still hang on the wall. Don't miss this experience!

I was recently in town for business and was recommended to check out Tom & Joe's for lunch as it is an original local business located in downtown Altoona. I was so pleasantly surprised as I entered and the hustle and bustle was taking place in this cool diner. Orders are being called out and folks just seem to be... More
