Great Greek salads

My wife and both love the salads. The gyros are great too. The service is always good and the people are pleasant. My Greek cuisine is limited, but we do enjoy the food here.

Looked for a place to take my wife for a greek salad, as the place we used to go took it off menu long time ago. Read the reviews for this restaurant and thought this was the sure thing. My wife said her greek salad was ok, but my steak gyro was grisly tough steak as I read on another... More

I went to this restaurant, with a date, a few weeks ago. I had looked at the place on Google Maps, but really couldn't figure what it would be like. It was a little bit of a gamble, but we went there and it turned out to be an awesome decision. The food was amazing. The service was exceptional. The... More

Fresh, authentic and hand made. I haven't found a dish I didn't like. My go to is the greek salad with Chicken. Also a nice quiet place for small meetings.

If you are on a road-trip passing through Altoona, and you want something other than chain food-- this is a great place to stop for lunch. It is right off the highway, and they make a mean lamb gyro. Easy to miss-- they are in a square brick building shared with other businesses-- but make the effort (tiny sign), it... More

This is the best Greek food outside of Greece and better than most of the food I've had in Greece. Theo's spanikopita, tzatziki and pitas, gyros, Greek burgers, and lemon chicken orzo are to die for. You can't go wrong with any of his homemade soups, salads and wraps. I've enjoyed them all. Even though we have moved to VA,... More

the two of us love the Athenian for lunches. They make their gyros fresh baked every day. These morsels are a true delight. I like the chicken gyro with some red wine vinegrette. My husband like the traditional lamb gyro with Taziki Sauce.

Now I understand why it was listed as #7 out of 111 restaurants in Altoona. Gave it a try after looking up restaurants on TA. This one caught my interest. Did not disappoint. Food was very good. Had a Greek combo platter that was a special, for about $12 or $13. Salad and dressing was good, spanikopita (spinach pie), was... More

My wife and I went here again this past Saturday and were again met with the same customer service and great food! I got the steak gyro and it was delicious. The meat was a little grisly, but well seasoned. Baklava was amazing again. Will definitely be back again
