Nice change of pace

the Knickerbocker was a nice change of pace from your typical franchise restaurants. We had the loaded fish sandwich and a Philly cheesesteak both were very very good. They have an extensive draft beer menu as well as bottled beer.

Looking for a restaurant not a chain this is the place you are looking for.Homemade soups mouth watering sandwiches and the selection of beers is outstanding.Altoona's little secret restaurant is centrally located easy to find. The service is also first class if you are not sure what to order just ask the server they know what is best. Small towns... More

I arrived at noon with business colleagues, and at 12:20 the waitress finally took our order. She was very rude when we asked questions about the menu. Our food came out 30 minutes later. We didn't get out bill until 1:30. Clearly, customers are of no value here. The waitress communicated that with deplorable service and an attitude that was... More

This place is deceiving from the outside, it looks a little rundown. When we walked inside, we were greeted by a friendly waitress as we weaved our way through the different rooms until we found a table big enough for the 5 of us. Service started out slow, but quickly picked up. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient. The... More

Absolutely great selection of scotch & bourbon. These include single malts (Highlands, Islay, Speysides) and blends. Most places around are lucky to have JD, Crown Royal, Beam. They also have various bourbon with some age to them. I also like the Cuban sandwich there.

What a wonderful stop! Thanks to TA, we found this gem, had a V good waiter & enjoyed our afternoon repast. Checked out the history of this location while relaxing & dined on gyro's, fish n chips. Homemade FF & while we didn't sample any beer, they had quite the list!

Nice spot for lunch in the courtyard on a summer day. Like their tomato soup and grilled cheese, Parmesan fried zucchini and much more.

The courtyard is nice. But that's where the good stuff stops. The waitress came over and I asked for the drink menu and she recommended a cherry mojito or mojito and I agreed and got a cherry mojito. When it came it tasted like cherry syrup with no mojito. So I asked to get it replaced with something else and... More

Our family of four decided to try something & somewhere off the beaten path. This place was just fantastic! Each of us enjoyed our lunch (all meals were really good), thought the waitress (Rachel) was adorable, loved the courtyard (quiet and secluded from the street), and thought the prices were very reasonable (lunch for four was $35)! Even though we... More

Great place, with constantly changing specialty beers on the menu & a good selection of foods (primarily I go for the sandwiches & the stack of onion rings [they have foot tall or 1/2 foot stacks with a three dip accompaniment]). The sandwiches are large and I always take half home- a meal for next day. (However, I do have... More
