Dined here a few times just for the hibachi grill, last visit was last month. The experience has been consistently good. The hibachi chefs do the standard show, twirling the spatulas, tossing a piece of food, onion volcano and so on. My fiancee and I always ordered the same thing, filet w/shrimp for two. The meal comes with mushroom soup... More

A1 is our go-to place for sushi and sashimi. Has become less professional with kids for staff recently. Ladies room unsanitary and dirty last time. Seems no mgmt present.

Gotta tell you A1 should be named Z99. Horrible tonight from start to finish. Think before you go. Many other choices in the Lehigh Valley. Here are the lowlights: 1. Ordered wine that was sour. Now this was a white zinfandel - something that I am sure turns pretty quickly by the glass at a restaurant, right? Told the waitress... More

Sorry, but I've been to the place 3 times & each visit was worse than the one before. The dining room reeked of Clorox, the servers were disinterested and not around when you needed them, & the food was mediocre at best. As much as I want to support cultural restaurants in Allentown, this place had turned me off.

If you are willing to look past the drab and run down appearance the food is pretty decent. I cannot attest for the habachi. However the sushi was delicious. We started our meal with soup. My husband's miso was average at best. The server initially forgot my goyza soup, but once I finally did receive it, it was worth the... More

It is an OK hibachi. Chef was uninspired and didn't do the egg in the hat. Onion volcano was uninspired. Part Of Hibachi Is The show. Show was lacking. Fried rice was overcooked and hard. Chicken was ok. Edamame was uncooked. Average but not special. Teppan in Dorney is better.

We have been patronizing this establishment for over 8 years and last night was the last time we will be giving them our money. First received my soup/half a bowl and cold. Told waitress she acted like she did not understand me. She took our order and returned with 4 drinks 4 soup/salad and did not see her again. However... More

Food was fine. Hibachi entertainment was just ok. Cook didn't really engage our group like some other hibachis I've been to, but we all left full and happy.

The sushi is fresh. The food is fresh and delicious. The only downside would be the extremely dim lighting. I had to use the light from my phone to read parts of the menu. My husband and I have eaten at A-1 many times and we always leave full and happy.

When this first opened, it was a pretty nice plance and the food was good. As time has gone it appears the owners are not maintaining it. The bathroom lights were burned out and in general pretty dirty. The dining rooms could also have used a good cleaning and the chairs are in need of repair. I would not go... More
