Every year my four friends & I celebrate our birthdays together. The birthday person chooses a restaurant . My girlfriend chose Wert's, she has lived in PA her entire life & has frequently eaten there. I was very pleased with her choice& loved the history this restaurant has. The waitress was very pleasant & on the ball. I ordered the... More

Werts makes a great burger and one of my favorite parts, if you order it medium rare or rare, thats how it is cooked and served! A lot of places overcook their burgers. NOT Werts! Onion straws are delicious as well, and are served as a massive basket.... definitely not a single serving. Soups are delicious and they have numerous... More

I live within blocks of this establishment and I have heard good things about this place. So on a Monday night, I decided to take my daughter out to Wert's. We ordered burgers as they have specials on Mondays. I was a bit disappointed that they don't substitute fries for their onion straws. My daughter's burger was cooked as ordered,... More

We've been eating here for the past several years. Of late the quality of the food is slipping. Too much salt in everything; and the cream soups are nowhere near as good, now, as they used to be. (Too much corn starch and not enough - Ahh, I think it's called - milk.) The burgers are still some of the... More

Wert's is a local favorite. When we were there, families (consisting of 3 generations in many cases) appeared to be enjoying themselves. Unfortunately, our experience was not a happy one. There were several clean tables and booths when we were ushered into the restaurant but we were seated at a noisy booth next to the cutlery station. The bench I... More

A unique lunch and fast dinner. Interesting menu selections with great WERT's BURGERS for a filling lunch special. Ask for what you want, and they will do their best to help out.

This was not an experience I would care to repeat. After hearing for years about their "famous" onion rings, we decided we'd finally try Wert's Café. Our first impression was that the décor is very dated and a bit depressing. However, we pushed past that initial impression and ordered a basket of onion rings and rotisserie chicken on penne pasta.... More

I grew up in the area and was able to return with co-workers and wanted to show them some of Allentown's highlights. Wert's was a big hit for dinner. I hadn't been there for probably 10 years and our experience was as good as I remembered. We were lucky to be there on a Tuesday and the seafood bisque was... More

Family owned and known for the Wert's burger & famous onion rings. All you have to do is look at the parking lot and see that it's always crowded. Super service and consistently good food!

This is an old place in an out-of-the-way location near the Allentown Fairgrounds but is always worth the trip. It's family owned and it shows: the staff has been there for a while and know their regular customers. The burgers are about the best I've had: always fresh and done to order. You must order the fried onion strings.
