This is one of the best restaurants in downtown Allentown. This restaurant has been in downtown Allentown long before "downtown Allentown" was cool. The food is fabulous, wait staff is attentive; never had a bad meal here!

We've eaten here at least 100 times over the years and the food is always fresh and delicious. The staff and kitchen go out of their way to honor requests.

Allentown is abuzz with the renaissance that the new hockey arena is supposed to bring to downtown. Yet The Bay Leaf has been surviving in this location next to the bodega and up the street from a check cashing store since I moved to the valley in the 90's. The reason is the consistently excellent food, with an impressive menu... More

This is our "go-to" restaurant on our once a year visit to Allentown. We go there for the wonderful salads and appetizers, the inventive cocktails, but most of all....the lamb. A tricky meat to prepare well and they do so every time. It is a do-not-miss meal. The fusion concept of asian and american works here. We always try something... More

This place from the appetizers to the entrees was an incredible treat for the taste buds. Wonderful combinations of food - fresh chopped mango with crab meat in a special sauce, for example. Just a real delight.

I've given this place two attempts to impress me because people say they like it. Needless to say, it confirms that people in the Lehigh Valley do not know food. This restaurant doesn't know what it is. Thai? ItalIan? French? It fails equally at all of them. Nothing about this meal was good. I will not return.

One thing you can count on is the way the BayLeaf stays the same, either good or bad.The food is always good and thats a testament to the chef/owners that bring a Thai flavor that is unmatched in the area. Consistent every time. Also consistent is the crap waiters that think that it is cool or needed to try to give... More

Our group of 10 was in Allentown for a graduation weekend. We knew the choices were limited for restaurants. We picked the best there was to eat at every night. I would not return to the Bay Leaf for several reasons. All of them had to do with service. A restaurant serves food, granted. The reviews for this one are... More

I had not been to The Bay Leaf for quite sometime. Many of the more popular restaurants are now in Bethlehem or Easton. However, you don't need to leave Allentown to get a consistently great meal, with knowledgeable servers, wonderful asian flavors, and reasonable prices. We have never had a bad meal, nor dining experience. In spite of hard times... More

The Bay Leaf is a hidden gem in Downtown Allentown. It is a mostly Thailand menu with an upscale touch. The fact that it has lasted so long in a less than perfect setting attests to the food. Service is excellent. Pad Thai was great. Menu also had interesting choices like chicken a La banana and some non Thai choices... More
