Good beer, funny tour, food acceptable

Growlers had us remembering the best part long after we got home.

For travelers either passing near by (not too far from Exit 286 Reading/US 222) or those making a day trip to the Adamstown area, a meal here is a wonderful experience. The restaurant is located on Rt. 272 (N. Reading Road) between Swartzville and Adamstown. Great and interesting decor throughout, friendly waitstaff, quality food, and fresh Stoudts beer. Our family... More

It has been several years since I have been at Stoudt's for dinner. They had many open time slots for dinner on New Years Eve (which made me nervous) but we made a reservation on OpenTable for NYE dinner. The restaurant was more crowded than I expected but not full. They did have a slightly pared down dinner menu, which... More

Located just past Stoudtburg Village it is easily recognizable with the large bull in front. Good menu with several vegetarian options to go along with lots of steak. A pleasant surprise in small Adamstown. A little pricey.

Pretty good food, especially for the Adamstown area. Bear in mind that I am grading Stouts based on a VERY small pool of decent places to eat. It is also en excellent way to avoid ANY restaurant that features "Pennsylvania Dutch Cooking". Unless you get up at 4 a.m. to work the farm for 14 hours a day, you need... More

Have been to Stoudt's twice while staying in Adamstown. The pretty good foods are: beer, sausages, lentil and sausage soup, bread. Mediocre are sides of red cabbage, sauerkraut, spattzle, goulash, breaded pork tenderloin (too much breading, over cooked), special fall, bourbon drink (weak). Had fun at the bar while waiting for our table---good bar tender and beer. The cabbages were... More

We went to Stoudt's following a recommendation for German food int he area. We arrived on a Saturday night around 8PM and waited less than 30min to be seated in a wonderful, cozy booth. The room was decorated very tastefully with antique paintings. Out server came to the table quickly and informed us that they just received 2 large parties... More

Our server was inattentive and slow. Pleasant but slow. They weren't very busy for a Saturday night so I couldn't imagine what the hold up was. They have a small selection of their own brews. I rather enjoyed the Golden Lager. A bit more robust from your standard Budweiser with 4% alcohol. My friend had the Pomtini and enjoyed it.... More

We stayed nearby for 5 weeks and ate at Stoudt's every Friday night. The food and beers were excellent. I especially liked the seasonal beers. Pumpkin ale was very good.We also filled our growlers ever weekend. Our group went to the Oktoberfest with Alex Meixner. What a blast, what a party. We will be back next year...

This was one of our favorite restaurants in the area, but after our last visit we have changed our minds. The first thing we noticed was the hostess (I think her name was Ava) was no longer there. Ava ran a tight ship. The tables were always set properly with clean plates, etc., table cloths ironed and just a general... More
