We were excited to try this place out. Heard alot about it. Decor is very old and dated. Almost felt medieval. Service was slow. Samplers were 4 at a time. Food - was so so. Not impressed.

I ordered a Pumpkin Fest beer to start with and it was like drinking pumpkin pie, so delicious!! I got an 11 oz sirloin for dinner and wished it was a never ending steak! The cut was so tender and juicy with an amazing flavor. Finally, I ordered the Fat Dog layered chocolate cake and it was a perfect end... More

This place was recommended by a local B & B where we stayed on the way back home from a trip exploring civil war sites. Traditional Brautwurst, red cabbage and sauerkraut rocked, dining companion enjoyed the Rachel wrap. The sausage was nicely paired with the 1860 IPA which seemed appropriate. For dessert we split the Fat Dog stout cake which... More

From the minute we walked in, the host was extremely friendly. We got a booth, which we asked for. The waitress was knowledgeable and very personable. The atmosphere was comfortable, historical, and romantic. ...had the sirloin and prime rib - both were cooked perfectly, along w/ fresh veggies. Dessert was fantastic...peanut butter bomb. We went back the next day for... More

I am sure there are lots of teak houses in Lancaster but I refer the Stoudts Black Angus restaurant. Easy to get to. Food was really good they go out of their way to accommodate anything you want to make a change too. I must say the NY strip was done to perfection for my taste. reservations are suggested but... The food here was excellent. Since Stoudts is known for beef, we ordered burgers and "cheese steaks". The flavor was amazing! Got the beer sampler and really enjoyed the different options. Get the sampler if you are a beer person. Ordered the Fat Dog Chocolate cake to take home and enjoyed that too. Our server was very friendly but definitely... More

Stoudt's was well ahead of the craft beer movement. Founded by a husband and wife, Carol Stoudt maybe the first female craft brew master. If in the area, stop by for a wide array of beers and great food. The atmosphere inside is also worth the visit.

German or not, you would not expect high quality Sauerkraut and Bratwurst in a place quite off the main stream. But it is served here, and, guys, we know what real Kraut and Bratwurst is about! And there is more beyond! Like excellent (I mean excellent) beef and burgers. Not to forget the great beer, brewed on the premises. All... More

I used to always take out-of-town family and friends to Stoudt's. Lately it has not been up to its usual standards. The last time I came the food was 'meh' at best. The hostesses were somewhat rude. I prefer to sit on the bar side and order from the bar menu and the last time my party requested to do... More
