Each the last 5 years while attending plays at OSF, we have eaten a dinner at Larks. In the past, we were always surprised at the diversity of offerings on the menu and the quality the kitchen delivered. But last week was not up to the previous standard. The Brussels sprout appetizer ( in a less than impressive offering) was... More

Lark's a bit more expensive than I usually like my restaurants to be, but I was impressed by the food, ambiance, and service there. It's worth the splurge. My big tip is to get the flourless chocolate cake and salted caramel ice cream for dessert. Holy cow. It is a contender for best dessert I've ever eaten, and I've eaten... More

Great setting in a vintage hotel. Seated by one of the big windows looking out on downtown. Good service, good food in a casual yet elegant atmosphere. Try the fried chicken breast with mashed potatoes, gravy and fresh vegetables for a fresh take on comfort food. Very large portion, but so good. The deserts looked wonderful and everyone around us... Larks has a very nice atmosphere inside the old restored hotel right in the heart of downtown Ashland. The food is quite good, the servers are very knowledgeable, but I do think their prices are on the high side. The menu could be a little larger, I don't feel there's enough of a variety offered.

It is a great place for the setting and the food is pretty good. The first time I went the food was stellar this last time was OK, the sauce used for my duck a little too sweet for my taste. The staff was exceptional and a decent wine list. Good portion sizes for dinner, though for some could be... More

We were so pleased that our hotel booked our dinner and even arranged for us to arrive early in order to have plenty of time to get to the theater. We were seated promptly and graciously...and were promptly ignored. We ordered drinks after a 15-minute wait, and they were delivered 45 minutes later! Dinner arrived after over an hour, and... More

Immediately adjacent to the Ashland Springs Hotel, this is simply a fun place to eat -- lunch and dinner, of course. Breakfast seems to be reserved for hotel guests, and so may not be an option for those staying elsewhere. The food is very good indeed, and the wine list is excellent (though perhaps a trifle inflated).

Lark's is a pleasant and convenient place for lunch. The service is always friendly and I've always found the staff helpful. There is an effort to provide locally sourced food. Over the years I have found the food consistently of good quality. Although I wouldn't classify this restaurant as gourmet-original, the meals are well presented and tasty with interesting flourishes.

This restaurant located in the Ashland Springs Hotel is one of our favorites. When we stay ion the Hotel we always have a stay in night that includes dinner at the "Larks". We have never had a bad meal here and it's hard to say what is good as the menu is seasonal and the Chef does a great job... More
