A birthday dinner: Every dish and glass of wine was delicious, the staff were perfect, the restaurant beautiful and we were all so full of good food that there was not even room to try the dessert, sadly for the birthday girl, though, the meal had been so good she scarcely wanted cake.

Nice atmosphere, friendly and knowledgable staff, good food. Love that they accommodate gluten free people so well. We are local and have been regularly visiting the last few months. We even called one evening to see if they were still serving dinner (not realizing it was just before closing) and got a friendly greeting and the response was to come... More

I've been going to Larks since 2006. The atmosphere is fun, comfortable, and joyful--part someone's large living room and part 1920s. The food is part comfort and part gourmet. The staff is both professional and personable. Out of all of the dinners and lunches we've had there, there was only one dish we ordered that wasn't up to par--black-eyed peas.... More

When the waiter fumbled trying to describe every special it was clear the entrees were jammed packed with pretension. My yellowtail was maybe 6oz of over cooked fishy fish. the side of rutabaga frites were actually a tablespoon of shavings. The salad was six leaves of watercress and 4 kumquats. It was 30 dollars. My husband had crab fondue which... More

We had an early dinner before a show and they were excellent on timing of food. I had the southern fried chicken and mashed potatoes; huge portion and very good. My husband had the rib eye and he said it was cooked perfectly and a good cut. Service was friendly and professional. Atmosphere was classy but not stuffy. You could... More

Since we were staying at the Ashland Springs Hotel, we decided to try their restaurant. We started at the bar where we had a couple of drinks and a nice chat with the bartender about local wines. Then we got our table. There were lots of good choices on the menu which made it hard to decide. Our waiter was... More

Salads, wine, bread were all fine, but my main course was painful! I am not vegetarian, but wanted a lighter meal so I ordered the wild mushroom and quinoa balls with root vegetables over rice noodles in herbed broth, and the broth was so spicy hot that it was inedible. The other ingredients somehow managed to taste like cardboard. I... More

Best lunch we could have hoped for. A bright, welcoming and restful restaurant. Comfortable wicker chairs. Super fresh ingredients (the list of what is fresh today is on a blackboard -- and the list is impressive). Delightful, efficient, attentive and friendly service. Best sandwiches on tasty breads! Original combinations of fresh ingredients. Superbly quiet (tables are far apart and there... More

We ate with a large group of friends here the other night. I had the special sea bass with vegetable risotto which was wonderful, I would go back for this dish even though the fish wasn't cooked all the way through. People in our group had: 1.the pork chop-huge, 2. Seafood pasta- not great 3. steak- great, 4. chicken-good 5.... More

My daughter and I shared a salad and a turkey sandwich. Both were excellent and the portions were very generous. Almost too much food.
