Great food and service

We were staying at the Ashland Spring Hotel and Larks is located downstairs, right off the lobby, so it was a convenient place to eat before a play. Turned out to be a great choice! We wanted to try this historic hotel's restaurant, and although the food was delicious, the seating is quite close so it was hard to visit or feel romantic. Definitely worth trying once, but not inclined to go back due to the cost (well-worth the cost for a one-time visit, though). Funny that we asked our server to recommend a good... More

we have heard of this restaurant since we live locally. We had dinner with friends. Food was overpriced and average. Service was poor. It seems that they cater to wealthy California tourists.

Excellent local, organic and very fresh food. Great service. Atmosphere is low key and relaxed. They changed my beet salad to my specifications, which I appreciated. I would eat there again for all the listed reasons. If you have well behaved children, they would be welcome, I think.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch with many special food items available at a reasonable price. Foodies will love this restaurant and it's so convenient to the Shakespeare Festival. We did not eat there for dinner, so I cannot comment on that.

We had a delightful experience here on Sunday! Mimosas were excellent and food delicious. We sat the bar and noted that the personnel liked working together and providing friendly service. We will be back soon!

I just dined there again with friends, and we had a grand time, grand food, and grand service. The beet salad is a delight. But my ever-favorite is dessert: the flourless chocolate cake with sea-salt caramel ice cream (which Larks was doing before it was en vogue). An "mmmm" all around, including locally-sourced food and swanky, Gatsby decor.

This is a nice overall restaurant. Food, service and atmosphere are solid. We had diner and our meals were served on time and well presented.

The only reason the rating was less than perfect is due to how busy they were. I will be back and have the chicken again.
