Amuse has been in Ashland for five or six years by this time, and we find that we just can't stay away. Friends come to town and want to go out? Amuse. A special occasion dinner? Amuse. Too tired to cook on a Sunday night? Amuse. We just heard the other day that they've started doing discounts for dinners after... more

We really enjoyed our dinner at Amuse. I had a grilled tenderloin with pommes frites that was very good (albeit a little past medium rare) and my wife had a game hen that was wonderful. For dessert I had a very buttery brie and my wife had freshly-made beignets that were awesome. Our server was very perky and attentive. I... more

We had dinner at Amuse after the pre-theatre rush. The decor is lovely and I really wanted to like the restaurant. I know nothing about Oregon pinot noirs, so the server recommended a good one for us. We started our meal with sweetbreads. They were tasty, a little heavy with bacon, and placed on something -probably potatoes - with the... more

Four playgoers had a wonderful light dinner by each having 2 appetizers. We had their wonderful corn bisque, sweetbreads, and grilled shrimp. All were delicious. more

Had a fantastic dinner before an OSF show in late July. Best salmon I've had in years, served over potato "galette" with a light herb sauce. My companion had white corn soup and a beet risotto, both absolutely delicious. Service was unpretentious and perfectly timed, and we had plenty of time to linger over dessert and coffee before the 8:30... more

I was told this was the best place to eat in Ashland, and being a foodie I was excited to try it. The tastes of cheese puffs and tomato basil soup was a nice touch to start the meal, but everyone at our table was dissapointed with their entree. Three of us ordered steaks, and they were thin, charcoal black on... more

What can I say? The food at Amuse is lovely, without question, and perfectly executed. The wine list is both impressive and accessible. The service - flawless. So why didn’t I have a better time? Well, we can start with the tables being so close together we felt that by talking we were interfering with the conversation of the diners... more

My wife and I are retired travel writers (Frommers, Best Places) and have been to Amuse on 3 different visits to the Shakespeare Festival. On every occasion both the food and service were superb. Amuse would be considered a 3 to 4-star restaurant in Sacramento, Tahoe, the Bay Area, or the Napa Valley, the areas we are most familiar with.... more

This was the #1 rated restaurant on a list I read written by the owner of the Lithia Springs Inn. It is very, very good. The food is comparable to any 4-5 star restaurant in a major city. I had a seared salmon over lentils and mashed potatoes that was out of this world. I also had the huckleberry cobbler... more

Maybe at one time this was a good restaurant, but our evening there was a huge disappointment. We were seated in a stuffy little featureless room, the food was mediocre to just plain bad, the service was quick but impatient, and downright huffy. The prices were high, and when there are so many really good restaurants in Ashland, we felt... more
