Asian fusion - always satisfying and great vegetables

We come here every time we return to Ashland for plays. We have had both the wonderful happy hour menu (taste treats and much variety) and dinner. This is more Asian Fusion than traditional Thai, and they do it well, working with the fresh ingredients of the area. This time we had dinner and... read more

We ate here for lunch because it is one of Mom's favorites. Unfortunately we had a play afterwards and even though we arrived with plenty of time the service was so slow that we had to continually get out of our chairs and go inside to find someone to help us. The iced tea was delivered without the requested sweetener... More

Although the entrance to Thai Pepper doesn't look like much, it's a three-story restaurant on very prime property in Ashland. We were fortunate to be able to sit outside on the decking. It was a beautiful evening and the creek was murmuring in the background. Wonderful ambiance! The food was very well prepared and tasty. Specialty drinks were complementary to... More

If you like Thai food, or even think you might, go, go, go! This was fabulous! Flavorful, beautifully presented and graciously served on a fabulous outdoor patio next to the music of the river. The scallops might have been the best I have ever eaten and the wine suggestions were right on. We shared an extraordinary coconut "gelato" for dessert.... More

This restaurant is close to the OSF theatres, with seating on two inside levels (downstairs is nicer than upstairs) and two outside patios next to the creek. In the evening the patios are shady and cool, perfect on a warm day. Bring a light sweater. We enjoyed the lamb special and a cashew vegetable stir fry. The lamb was excellent,... More

The restaurant is somewhat difficult to get to (stairs) for people with mobility issues, but sitting outside (when the weather permits) is lovely.

Four of us went here before the an evening performance at the Shakespeare festival. We each ordered a different dish (Garlic shrimp and broccoli, Pad Thai, Yellow Country Chicken Curry, and Pad Mei) and everyone was very happy with their meal. The service was friendly, quick, and kept our water glasses filled. And it's with in easy walking distance of... More

We've been coming to Ashland for the theatre for 30 years, and every year one night is always set aside for the whole group of 20 or more to eat outside on the creekside patio at the Thai Pepper. It worked when the kids were little, it still works now that we're older and they're in their 20s. Not the... More

My wife and I went on a Monday, which sees Happy Hour the whole evening starting at 5 pm in the bar area. We arrived at 7:30 pm and the place was very busy. We've been to numerous Thai restaurants around the world and in the U.S. and they are usually run by Thai staff and cooks. To our surprise,... More

Very good Thai food in downtown Ashland. Might not be what you expect - our Pad Thai noodles were vermicelli instead of the usual wide noodles - but the flavors are wonderful. And the portions are surprisingly generous. They also have a good selection of beer and wine. If we're ever back in Ashland we'll make a point of eating... More
