We were recently in Ashland and ate at Thai Pepper. Although the setting by the river was wonderful, unfortunately the food was not. My husband ordered a seafood curry, and didn't finish his meal because he said the fish was tasted off. When he got back to our hotel, he was very ill. Although he usually has a "cast-iron" stomach,... more
We had green curry chicken and some shrimp dish in peanut sauce. The green curry chicken was in a white sauce which indicated that no basil, kaffir lime leaves, cilantro, galangal or any of the herbs which make the sauce green had been used. It tasted like coconut milk with a bland commercially prepared "green" curry paste mixed in, the... more
We had dinner here with some friends during a visit to Ashland. It was good food, but not really traditional Thai food (we know, we lived in Bangkok), but interesting use of Thai flavors. I would say it was Thai influenced cuisine. The service was good, flavors of the food was good, nice value for the money and the atmosphere... more
I've eaten at the Thai Pepper several times; I go there whenever I visit Ashland. My favorite dish is the Indonesian Lamb. It's absolutely delicious! Succulent! My mouth is watering even as I write this review! The ambiance of the outdoor patio overlooking the stream, is lovely as well. more
The food is bland and obvious, and it's really not Thai. It's like American food but they added rice and called it Thai. more
I took the recommendation of a friend to have dinner at Thai Pepper on my recient visit to Ashland. We ordered the Tiger rolls, rack of lamb and halibet cheeks and couldn't have been more pleased with our meal. The service was also wonderful and we will add Thai Pepper to our must dos for all future visits to Ashland. more
At $35.00 a piece (Meal, tip, and the infamous City of Ashland prepared food tax) I felt somewhat abused price to value wise, and the rack of lamb I chose, while delicious, was really less than a full meal. The food, what there was of it was fine, the atmosphere pleasant enough, but I did not feel any real value... more
Alright so let me start by saying that I worked in the restaurant business for about 10 years in different positions from waiter/bartender/management. With that being said I am not sure who is running this restaurant. First of all the hostesses were rude from the start. Insisting that they seat me while my fiance was in the bathroom. Also they... more
The rack of lamb special was great. The crispy fish is not bad though should be eaten fresh. more
