We have been coming to Ashland for four to five days for over a decade, and of the available restaurants in Ashland, this has always ranked near the top for us. We usually come in mid-to late September so eating in the courtyard is one of the reasons we come, along with the food. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival's increasing success... More

Have been to Peerless before and while not spectacular, has always been good. Not last night. Wasn't too hungry so thought I'd order light. I had the lobster curry bisque and carpaccio. The bisque came. There were some nice pieces of lobster, but the bisque itself was lukewarm, watery, and tasteless; not even a hint of salt, let alone curry.... More

We took our adult son there. Some dishes were good, others just so so. Servings were very small, therefore we ordered dessert.

There's a new (Summer, 2014) chef at the Peerless, and to pervert Bob Dylan's lyrics, "the last one now will later be first." We had put the Peerless off our list a few years ago because the food was pricey and just "Ech." This year the Peerless is on the top of our fine dining list. The tastes on the... More

I wanted to give all excellently, but the waiter made too many errors...big ones. My daughter asked for a suggestion for a dry white wine. The waiter said the white by the glass was available by the bottle and very good...it was way too sweet! My daughter's boyfriend ordered the short ribs, but was served the lamb. At 9:00, he... More

The Peerless has just hired a chef from Hawaii. Excellent food with an Hawaiian flavor. Recommend the sampler with two sliders, chicken wings, hummus and pita bread or the short ribs. Fresh Hawaiian Fish flown in daily. One of the downsides is the noise. The bar is in the restaurant and it has a very popular Happy Hour. The noise... More

We really wanted to like this restaurant. We sat outside and it was lovely. Unfortunately, our waiter had a bit of an attitude. We ordered from a really nice variety of small plates. We did enjoy the meal though.

Great wine selection, unique menu - good for vegetarians & carnivores alike. I've returned here a number of times; I've never been disappointed.

We had dinner one night during a visit to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival at Peerless on Fourth Street. We ate on the restaurant’s patio, enjoying every minute of it. My husband had Washington state oysters—they are smaller than Chesapeake or Normandy oysters, a chilled melon soup, and a golden beet salad. The beets, with general consensus from the others had... This restaurant is supposed to be the most upscale restaurant in Ashland. Sadly, the help doesn't help that reputation. Our waiter had greasy hair, bad teeth and three days of stubble. He was overworked, and overwhelmed! He made a mistake on our bill. In addition the cook didn't listen to our request that the salmon be cooked well. It was... More
