Upscale with a great attitude

We stopped in for a quick James Bond martini and water to duck out of the hot, hot sun while trying to walk off some of the filling sushi we ate at Taroko. The waitress was terrifically good spirited. Next time we will stay longer and try the food.

One of Southern Oregon's best wine lists -- really varied, not just the big volume producers. The place has a wonderfully eclectic menu -- mostly small plates and bites -- but there is always an item or two for the plate coverage folks. My wife's favorite is Steak Tartare. I like the pasta with locally collected or grown mushrooms. It... More

Disclaimer: My two visits were limited to the dining section and I never went to the bar section. Maybe the bar section was fantastic and I really missed out, but the dining section was just good. Not that good is bad; it is of course good. But nothing really stood out. The food was good, not great. The service was... More

Being in Oregon, this wine bar focuses on the better Oregon pinots (which can be excellent), but offers a selection worthy of the best wine bars in a major city. Further, the food offered to accompany the wine is reasonably priced and very good. For example, the 3 cheese plate had 3 excellent and somewhat unusual cheeses. Also, you can... More

Let's see.... Friendly staffer glad to help us make a same-day reservation; table waiting for us upon arrival; an immediate check by host to determine if we had to make the evening curtain time for a Shakespeare play (we did not); nice specialty wine list but a reasonably stocked full bar if that is not your inclination; delicious starters and... Beautiful and elegant bar area above the creek nestled in the trees - so relaxing. Wonderful and diverse cocktail menu (house infused spirits very innovative!) plus great rotating beer taps with local, West Coast and imported selections. Pilsner Urquell served in brewery stemware just fabulous and very fresh! Also eclectic variety of local and international wines. Appreciate value happy hour... More

A dear friend and local of Ashland suggested Liquid Assets. What a wonderful experience! Outstanding wine selection! Wonderful menu of Snacks, Starters, Soups, Salads, Cheeses& Desserts! The staff is extremely knowledgeable..Wine, Aperitifs and Desert selections are absolutely to best! I started with a flight of Chardonnay and we had the Antipasti Plate, Beef Tartare and Crab Cakes….an absolute delight!

My wife and I visited this wine bar and small plates restaurant at 3 pm for a late lunch and Happy Hour (HH) that runs 3-5 pm (they open at 3 pm). We tried two specialty cocktails, which were served perfectly shaken, chilled and delicious. We then munched on figs wrapped in bacon, filled with blue cheese ($2/ea). As main... More
