A friend and I were taking the long way to Ashland when we came across this gem. We picked it randomly and soon impressed. I had the Carne Asada Burrito and he had the 1/2 lb. burger with cheese. Though his burger and fries looked delicious, it was my carne asada that really impresses. Large thin strips of steak with... More

Al's is a long-time local favorite, we've had burgers a couple of times when we pass through Ashland, good burgers, fries and shakes - could use a little cleaning but that's part of the eclectic charm!

This place happened to be near our lodging so we decided to try it. We're sorry we did. The girl at the register didn't know details about anything on the menu. The owner was truculent when I asked if I could have guacamole instead of sour cream on my salad. My taco salad had fatty, rubbery chicken and was covered... More

I had the burrito and it was delicious. It was tasty and great comfort food on a cold day. The service was great as well.

This place has great service and burgers, but the fries were just OK, a little worse actually. I really want to go back on my next visit, but I'll probably stay away from the fries.

Big Al's is a locals institution here in Ashland. You all have one in your home town and Al's is for us, I would want someone to tell me about it if I was from out of town. Arturo the owner and his wife always make everyone feel welcome. The home made fry sauce is just the right blend of... More

Big Al was behind the counter and what a wonderful happy soul he is... after reviewing the menu, i had a chili relleno and my husband had the mexican steak. Haven't had a chili relleno that good since my mom's..The steak was very tasty..... More

Pretty good for the value. Better than fast food and krinkle fries are great. Good sized meals. Have a Tums on hand for later.
