This restaurant has the best food in town and it’s not really close. We are Ashland residents and dine out 10-14 days a month. Since it opened about three years ago, my wife and I have eaten at Coquina eight to 10 times (we would have gone more often had prices been lower). We believe the most important element of... More

No missed steps at this fine little place! The server was friendly, the owner was very helpful and informative, and the food was delicious. Four of us shared an order of the Brussels sprout chips and split a beet salad and a savory cheese tart. Everything we ordered was beautifully presented and had layers of interesting flavors. The portion of... More

Give yourself time to enjoy this gem. You will be glad you did. Owned by a delightful husband/wife team (she's the chef), the food is exquisite. The fois gras was a surprise and over the top. The halibut - cooked to perfection - done but moist. You probably cannot find anything on the menu not to like, but if I... More

My wife and I visited Ashland recently and stayed at Chakra Gardens, a delightful walk from the OSF. Since we had foresworn the use of the car during our stay we needed to find dining options close to downtown. Coquina appeared on our radar and looked like a good bet. So we wandered to it after our afternoon play, taking... More

The scallops were caramelized perfectly! Coquina has a nice calm venue & great food. Two of us shared the incredible chocolate desert, it was rich & thick but not too sweet. We'll be back!

The food was very good, especially the carrot salad appetizer which was really special. Atmosphere was just OK.

My wife and I had dinner here last week and we both thought that the food was outstanding. Hot scallops and cold crab were a great combo in my entrée. We both raved about the Brussels sprouts + house made chips appetizer. We ate here on a Wednesday night without anywhere else to rush off to (like the theater) and... More

My husband and I both enjoyed our dinner and the ambiance of this restaurant. We had- appetizers: beets w/cheese & greens, brussel sprouts with homemade chips. Entrees: duck breast, pistachio crusted halibut. Everything was unique, delicious and memorable. Highly recommend!

Latin American offerings, balanced tastes, thoughtful combos. Not just fats and carbs. Nice outdoor patio. Walking distance to Shakespeare.

The food is excellent. The outside patio looks very inviting. Unfortunately, we were indoors and seated next to a virtual waiter's runway hustling back and forth. I won't eat inside again..not on a weekend dinner. it took well over an hour for our simple meal to arrive. truly too slow for service. I am not sure it's worth the bother... More
