We enjoyed a romantic Saturday night at Coquina. Although we made a reservation, the restaurant was not crowded, and we had a choice of tables in the enclosed courtyard. We were served by a combination of staff, but the co-owner, Daniel, became our main server. Due to some dietary restrictions including gluten intolerance, we were concerned about what we could... We were led to Coquina by referrals from locals and very positive reviews from a number of sources, and we are so glad we went. The menu is interesting, the food is spectacular, and the prices quite reasonable for the quality. The setting is charming and an easy walk to the Shakespeare Theaters. The fried Brussel Sprouts and homemade potato... More

Why did we wait for 3 years to visit Coquina? There are many very good restaurants in Ashland, but this is a great one, a world-class cuisine artfully and thoughtfully prepared and presented. The chilled asparagus with crab soup was probably one of the best bites ever -- superb texture, layers of flavor, and simply sublime. I would go to... More

We have eaten there a number of times. The food is generally excellent and the service has always been slow. Since many of the customers are going to evening plays, they should have figured out that if they want to sell you a dessert, they ought to more things along. We got there when it opened and still had to... More

Ashland theatre-goers are in for a treat if they seek out Coquina, a somewhat upscale restaurant a few blocks from downtown. Everything is delicious. The ingredients don't seem all that extraordinary but the menu offerings are fresh and unexpected. The preparation is impeccable. We ordered only starters even though the mains also looked really good. For example, carrots were prepared... More

Coquina has become our favorite "nice" Ashland restaurant. We come to the festival twice a year, for like 25 yearrs, and have tried most of the restaurants in town. Two nights ago three of us shared seven small plates and a nice bottle of OR pinot. Waiter was great, recommended the wine and sequencing of the dishes. Fabulous ingredients, fresh,... More

Such a find! My folks, my husband and I ate here before a play and WOW it was such a memorable night. The wife is the chef and the husband waited on us. You could tell a lot of care went into the meal and the selection of food. The bar tender made the most amazing pomogranate cosmo I've ever... More

First time at this lovely, quiet restaurant and we will be back again soon! Both of us had their amazing beet salad with warm gorgonzola ...truly delicious and an unusual take on what many restaurants try to do and fail. But the piece d resistance was the fresh halibut. Again, we like the same things so we both had this... More

This is a small restaurant in a residential area just off of downtown. Well worth looking for. Small menu, big flavor. The beet salad was raved about in other reviews - and deservedly so. My husband had the cheese tart, which was also outstanding. His halibut was the best I've ever tasted. My scallops were wonderful. Service was great. I... More
