We ate dinner here before a Shakespeare play (the stages are less than a block away, can't get any closer). Wonderful food and great presentation. If you like Asian food (especially sushi) this is your best option in Ashland. We ordered "A Sushi Named Desire" and the "Thai Green Curry" which is a terrific combination for two people. The Sushi... More

It is a unique experience, to eat in a Japanese restaurant alone. I think of sushi and all the other little plates as being so communal -- sharing bites, chopsticks criss-crossing one another for morsels off others' plates. So I really value the memory of my peaceful and beautiful -- and solo -- lunch at Taroko recently. I had an... More

After being taken by shuttle from our hotel to the theater, we had less than an hour to have dinner before King Lear began. Taroko Pan-Pacific Bistro was just a few short blocks away. It was very busy, and we were afraid we would not make it back to the theater in time. However, the staff was so good about... More

The sushi was excellent--halibut was so fresh and flavorful. The salt and pepper calamari was definitely one of the best dishes I have had in a long time. The pad thai was lacking seasoning but the tofu was very fresh. The Mongolian beef was great--definitely would recommend it. When you first walk into this restaurant you do not realize how... More

Returned to Taroko -this time during tourist season. Unfortunately, there was a significant decline in the service. Took a while to even take our drink order let alone food order and then the kitchen was very slow.

We have eaten here several times, and the food is always good, and the staff I friendly and efficient.

Food was great! A nice unique and exquisite experience. Our waitress was awesome. She had a good sense of humor. We did not have to wait for a table, which was nice for once (the other two restaurants we tried in Ashland had us waiting 20 minutes for a table). Vegetarian friendly. Not much more to say :-)

We are on a road trip and stayed in Medford overnight, but we went to Ashland for dinner for the experience, since none of us had been there. This restaurant is right next to the Shakespearean theaters, a major center of activity. There were lots of people on the street and a short free music performance outdoors prior to the... More

My wife and I ate there the other night before heading over to OSF. She was happy to see they offered a sweet potato-only tempura so we started with that... what arrived were half-inch thick slabs of potato that were oily. We then had the sushi sampler, a spicy crawfish maki and a "double double" roll. The sushi was very... More

This place make look like a hole in the wall from the outside, but the food is special. I had the California Roll and the Philadelphia Roll. Both were wonderful. My wife and daughter said they loved their food. Service was quick and cheerful.
