Extensive sushi menu

Don't be put off by the unassuming premises, this restaurant is highly rated for a reason. The food is very good! The sushi menu is quite extensive, as is the sake selections. There is also a full bar. I had the Taroko chicken which is chunks of chicken and vegetables in a savory broth served... read more

My husband and I did not enjoy dining with a dog! At a nearby table a diner had a dog on the bench beside her that she was feeding while she ate. We like Asian food but are not big sushi fan so ordered other menu items. The pot-stickers were very dry and the pastry tough. My shrimp tempura consisted... More

A great dinner place for 5 couples. There was definitely something for everyone, from sushi, to mongolian beef, to curry and tempura. Wait staff was attentive and helpful.

Although the menu is varied, we have mostly focused on the sushi. I have found their rolls to be unusual but less expensive than another great local sushi place. This place has more room, easier to get a table. The coconut roll is great, in fact, all the rolls were great. Sashimi salmon is excellent. It has become our new... More

Sat at the sushi bar and enjoyed a beautiful poke salad, which my guy--who lived on Hawaii--said was delicious, as well as a tasty roll with kobe beef. Sushi chef and waiter were attentive and friendly. Our only dismay was the bar stools are a little low for the height of the bar and the bar was used for pickup... More

Taroko is a pleasant and unusual surprise, in that its food far outstrips the appearance and ambience of the restaurant itself. In fact, after walking past its rear door (right in front of the Bowmer Theatre) and its glaring "Minors Allowed" sign we nearly backed out of a reservation for seven that we'd made before arriving in Ashland. It looks... More

Good food, very close to the Oregon Shakespeare Theaters. Sushi was terrific! I ordered Won Ton Soup. It was enough for 4 people. My wife had Taroko chicken, certainly enough for two.

I had done some research and knew Taroko was well reviewed. We made a reservation in advance of our trip and had a great meal. Several very good vegetarian options, service was great as well as the atmosphere. Would visit again if we were in the area.

We sat in the back that feels like a diner but it was quiet and didn't diminish the service or taste of the food. Poke was great and followed up with solid sushi rolls. The bill was surprisingly low for the quality.
