Welcome carnivores! A great place for meat lovers. Leave your vegetarian friends at home or seat them alone in a corner. The bar scene provides energy to the dinning area...you feel like you are in an old time bar/dinning area. The OSF folks hang a the bar...eating and drinking. The Friday night we visited we saw three leads enjoying dinner... More

Great server, really knew the menu, picked up on us, and what we might like. We forget what a huge difference this makes. Advertised as "Meat Centric." Sat outside, very hot evening, sun in our eyes, he moved umbrellas, shifted our table and chairs, and made us comfortable. Please start with the bacon beignets. The wait staff attire is a... More

I was very disappointed with the wait for dinner. We called ahead and made a reservation. For me, that means perhaps a five to ten minute wait; not the case here. Furthermore, the traveler should know that this is a build-your-dinner eatery. One steak was $26 and it came with watercress leaves (a garnish). Every item, whether bread, vegetable, or... More

I went there twice this week, and all the dishes were great. We tried the Ribeye steak, the half roasted chicken, the duck cassoulet, the burger. All were really tasty, nice portion size, and great French fries too! The friendliness and service was prompt and just fine. Don't know why people complain so much. I think they don't allow enough... We had a BBQ plate that was delicious with all sorts of meats and chicken and we had a rib eye steak with horseradish infused mashed potatoes that were delicious. Drinks, food and service perfect. We will be back.

They are known for their meat but the menus includes other items. The first time there we had brisket of beef preceded by delicious salads. The second time, we had the same great salads and chose the hangar steak. Great wine choices boosted our opinion (already high) and the service was prompt, friendly and professional. Next time we're in Ashland,... More

Smithfield's is our go to spot to celebrate almost anything. Food is locally sourced and perfectly presented, focusing in meat. Meat for sure - walk into the dining area and you'll see a cow diagrammed, a pig statue or two and you'll be distracted by the beautiful plates and scents as you make your way to a table. Sit at... This "meat centric" restaurant, not far from the theaters in Ashland, served us possibly the best meal we had during a week's visit to the town. The noise level, however, quickly reached painful, even though we arrived at 5PM. As the restaurant filled, so did our ear drums! The beef tartare, seasoned with the restaurant's house-made Worcestershire sauce, was delicious,... More

I've been going to Ashland, Oregon for the Shakespeare Festival for about 20 years, and I remember this restaurant as being called "Monet's," which had very good food. One of the friends I was traveling with was in the mood for steak, so we went to Smithfield's. We were seated outside, which was pleasant. The food, however, was mediocre at... More

Remember when you would go out to a steakhouse without embarrassment and order a piece of meat cooked to perfection, with ideal seasoning. Before foo-foo dishes were all the rage. Smithfield's is an updated version of the steakhouse. Great steaks and chops, but also with some more inspired offerings (cheese souffle, duck). The food quality is at a level with... More
