Smithfield's is our go to spot to celebrate almost anything. Food is locally sourced and perfectly presented, focusing in meat. Meat for sure - walk into the dining area and you'll see a cow diagrammed, a pig statue or two and you'll be distracted by the beautiful plates and scents as you make your way to a table. Sit at... This "meat centric" restaurant, not far from the theaters in Ashland, served us possibly the best meal we had during a week's visit to the town. The noise level, however, quickly reached painful, even though we arrived at 5PM. As the restaurant filled, so did our ear drums! The beef tartare, seasoned with the restaurant's house-made Worcestershire sauce, was delicious,... More

I've been going to Ashland, Oregon for the Shakespeare Festival for about 20 years, and I remember this restaurant as being called "Monet's," which had very good food. One of the friends I was traveling with was in the mood for steak, so we went to Smithfield's. We were seated outside, which was pleasant. The food, however, was mediocre at... More

Remember when you would go out to a steakhouse without embarrassment and order a piece of meat cooked to perfection, with ideal seasoning. Before foo-foo dishes were all the rage. Smithfield's is an updated version of the steakhouse. Great steaks and chops, but also with some more inspired offerings (cheese souffle, duck). The food quality is at a level with... More

D**n it. Seriously. Restaurant No. 2 in Ashland that I REALLY wanted to give four stars, but can't because of spotty service (Larks was the first.) The staff here switch up duties, it seems, with servers mainly doing food, and another doing drinks. They would simultaneously disappear in the full restaurant, then pop up again as people were leaving. The... More

We went to brunch with friends on a Sunday. Luckily we had reservations, as the restaurant was extremely busy. We were seated outside on their wonderful, spacious patio. They were busier than they expected, so it took a bit longer to get our meal but the atmosphere made the wait fun and enjoyable. The meal was excellent. The orange marmalade... More

We had a spur of the moment party of 14 for dinner here last night. The power was out in some restaurants due to a storm so they probably had more business than usual. However, the food & service were fantastic and they even took the time to present a candle topped piece of chocolate peanut butter cheesecake! We will... More

I could have had only the bloody mary's for my meal but the rest of the menu was so tempting that I ended up overeating and spending two hours at the brunch table! The sage pancake with pork belly and a poached egg was perfect and when paired with the potato cake cooked in duck fat - I was in... More

This was, hands-down, the best place we ate in Ashland, which is saying a lot for a town with many excellent choices.. The Bacon Beignets are very unique and amazing. My wife had the fried chicken and I had the best burger I have ever tasted. The staff are very friendly.

For me, it's rare to find a restaurant that combines food and art. Usually, you would have to pay a lot of money at a five star restaurant. My sister who lives here took me to this restaurant. We came as the restaurant was closing- It closed at 130pm. This restaurant is a breakfast and brunch restaurant, unfortunately. My waitress... More
