Nice appetizer and entre'e

Out for dinner and Sybaris delivered a mixed result. After reading on their website about their baking skills I had high expectations. The bread delivered at the start of the meal was very average and the "waffle" in the dessert at the end was not tasty. Our appetizer was a very nice "Russian... read more

I had heard about Sybaris for a while and decided to give it a go. I've eaten at amazing restaurants in Seattle, Portland, Chicago, the Caribbean, Mexico, San Diego to name a few & my dining partner has lived and traveled in Europe, Sri Lanka and Indonesia, that are counted among her doing experiences. Sybaris tries to sell itself as... More

I have never written a restaurant review. However, the experience of Sybaris is something to be enjoyed each and every time you dine there. The menu is as authentic as is the chef, Matt Bennett. The service is unparalleled and the wine list superb! On my most recent visit...this evening...I was fortunate enough to try the "Rat Pack" veal chop... More

After receiving several recommendations we drove all the way to Albany to try this restaurant. The experience was not good. My pasta was not well seasoned (it could not have been more dull), my wife did not like the meat dish and even the simplest request we had, which was pasta for our 8 year old daughter, was completely unsatisfactory... This is our favorite restaurant in the area. The chef, Matt, is also the owner. His dishes are very creative, pleasing to the eye, and absolutely delicious. Some of the things he pairs together I would never think of but they work. One of my favorite dishes was octopus in a spicy cream sauce. Since his menu changes monthly it... More

We have been coming to this exceptional restaurant for many years. Matt, the owner and Chef is an extraordinarily gifted cook. The monthly menu is limited but the food is innovative, creative and exceptional. This restaurant is well worth the trip to Albany no matter where you live.

I have enjoyed several meals at this establishment. I have always been extremely happy. This restaurant broke a trend in Albany. It is the first fine dining establishment to be successful. Most close within a year or so. Most if not all items have been purchased from local area farms. Plating and presentation are top notch for every meal. Front... More

We hadn't eaten at Sybaris for a couple of years but found ourselves with a late afternoon appointment in Albany, so we made reservations for an early dinner. The menu is always eclectic and last night was no different. After much much debating, I chose scallop and shrimp stuffed sausages and my Sweetie had a roasted squash cannelloni. The sausages... This is my favorite restaurant when traveling to Oregon. Great food, locally grown and farm raised. I always give my Mom a gift card there because she goes there once a month with her husband. They treat them like family and I will always be appreciative of that. And the deserts are to die for!

We had dinner at Sybaris for our anniversary last night. It's wonderful to be treated like old friends when you arrive at the door. The tables are situated in a manner that lends to privacy with out seclusion. We ordered and shared a couple of appetizers and the Calamari sticks were excellent. For dinner we both had the Halibut, and... More
