This place used to be great. Not anymore! You can tell ownership has changed due to the horrible slop they are passing off as food! You can't disguise a bad product by saturating it in garlic and pepper. Plates were very hot, can you say microwaved? This place is capitalizing on the shirt tails of a reputation of its previous... Clemenza's Italian American Cafe in Albany is where we ate dinner this time. It's in the old downtown area. It's located in a building constructed in about 1888. It's on First Avenue, and it's one of the first! This town was built along the river, and then up from there. Water Street was the first, then First, Second, Third, etc.... More

We had not been for awhile I they must of changed hands because before it was close to a New York style Italian red sauces, lasagna that type of food; good Italian for Albany/Corvallis. It was our anniversary and I guess the first clue should of been the bread, it was full of ground black pepper. When we got our... More

I ate here for dinner because we wanted some Italian food, which our town didn't have at the time. I ordered the vegetarian lasagne and my wife had the cheese raviolis (we're vegetarian). The raviolis were cold in the middle (re-fired twice!) and the lasagne was passable. My wife went there with some work friends for lunch and also had... More

This is a cozy, quiet Italian Restaurant. The wall decorations were nice and the place was very clean. I think we enjoyed the bread the most. The salad was wonderful but the Ravoli was very different. They have a decent selection on the menu and a nice wine selection. The desert was very good. But the glowing part of this... More

Yum, yum, yum! Everything is excellent. Classy atmosphere in downtown Albany. You will want reservations during peak times or you could enjoy a fantastic cocktail experience down the street at the Vault while you wait.

I really wanted to like Clemenza's food. It was ok. I have eaten here twice and both times I thought that I wanted it to be better. I love good Italian food and love the other restaurants by the same owner. But, this is a bit of a miss for me.
