Dinner stop on 7 hr trip. We were hot and tired. Lovely views of river with small breeze and birds to entertain. Fast service even tough 50 people descended on the restaurant all at once. Drinks with lots of ice and quick refills. Menu limited hamburgers and BBQ. Lots of choices of sides. Prices $10 to $16. Our pulled pork... More

Our jet boat excursion dropped us off at this restaurant for lunch. We sat outdoors at a picnic table. Killer views of the river. The service was exceptionally fast. We had our food minutes after ordering. I had a grilled cheese that was really good. My husband ordered one of the BBQ sandwiches and he said it was really good.... More

Terrible BBQ, and the sides were even worse. Baked Beans were absolutely the worst! The coleslaw was very dry with no flavor. Corn on the cob was 1/2 of a small to medium ear of frozen, mushy, tasteless corn that would NOT melt ambient temp butter. 4 of us, 2 folks ordered soft drinks, other 2, just water. When we... More

After a recent disappointing eating experience at another Agness food establishment, we chose to go to Cougar Lane as our lunch stop on the jet boat trip. It was very pleasant. Both of us had the smoked half chicken which came with corn on the cob, muffins, watermelon, and fries. for $14.95 each. It was a little pricy but very... More

We have traveled the Rogue many times but never chose Cougar Lane for our lunch stop until this trip because Lucas was closed. An easy walk but for the mobility impaired they have a mini bus to help you up the hill. The store, restaurant, bar & grounds were exceptionally clean for a camping area. The store was stocked with... More

We had lunch at Cougar Lane on July 11th as part of our trip on Jerry's Jets. We have been here two other times and it was just "ok" but the new owners (Jerry's Jets) has updated the facilities and changed the menu to a BBQ format. The food is outstanding and the three home made BBQ sauces are very... More

We ate at the Cougar Lane Lodge while on the Rogue River jet boat wilderness ride, and it was excellent. BBQ is the specialty -- I had a brisket sandwich and my daughter had a pulled pork sandwich. My wife had a River Cobb Salad, which was enormous and loaded with all the good stuff--bacon, tomato, avocado, egg, bleu cheese--one... More

We (like probably 99% of visitors to this restaurant) arrived via a jet-boat tour from Gold Beach. Upon arrival, we were promptly given menus, and advised to sit wherever we liked (we chose the lovely patio which overlooked the river nearby). We did not have to wait long for our orders to be taken, or for our food to arrive,... More

Took the Jerry's Jet Boat ride.(which was fantastic) We were dropped off for dinner at Cougar Lane Lodge. Our order was the first, but we waited 50 minutes to be served. I inquired after 30 minutes and was told the cook made a mistake and didn't take the oldest first. No apology, just informed I would need to be patient.... More

Summer and fall are beautiful times of the year to eat at Cougar Lodge. However, there was nothing exceptional about the food. It was your average restaurant fare. The staff was friendly and made you feel welcomed.
