Have enjoyed lots of meals here over the years. The quality, the service, and the ambiance, are all top notch. Their curries are really lovely. In fact, I would say that a creamy mushroom curry on basmati rice sticks out as one of the best dishes I've eaten there. I am also a fan of the Queen Anne's salad, with... More

Nice Middle Eastern, and other, cuisine. The service is top notch and the food is always well prepared and delicious. Nice vegetarian selections as well. This is often our 'date night' destination. But we miss the belly dancing!!! and music scene that used to be such a hot part of this place. The Turkish coffee is to die for.....

I am not a big fan of Middle Eastern food, but I still enjoyed my meal. I got kebabs that were very tasty. I did not get a salad because I don't like nuts on my salad. Fountain drinks would be nice.

You'll always get a very good meal here. The atmosphere is Mediterranean; colorful, exotic and calming. The owner, Hillary, was a culinary teacher for many years. She and her staff can really cook!!!

Whenever we are in Athens, Ohio, we dine at Restaurant Salaam. The restaurant offers global cuisine made with locally-sourced ingredients. Many of the the selections are Middle Eastern in focus, while others use the palette of North African and Indian cuisine. The service is friendly and efficient; the restaurant surroundings are warm, cozy, and beautifully appointed. A well-balanced wine and... More

We recently visited with a group of friends; given the reviews of this restaurant, we were excited to visit. We left pretty disappointed. I had the chicken kabobs. Not only did the entire dish lack flavor (it was just chunks of grilled chicken and flavorless grilled veggies) the dish was served cold. That's not acceptable in my book. I can... More

An off night but still worth it. The atmosphere and the menu are always worth consideration at this Athens gem. Last night they seemed a little off their game. The soup & salads were wonderful. The main course meals were tasty but luke warm. I would recommend the flat iron steak. Spiced perfectly as described.

Our first impression of Salaam was the great atmosphere in the restaurant. The decor and open kitchen created a sensory experience that was a welcoming change from the rowdy college weekend outside. Service was excellent, and we ordered a couple appetizers to start. The dolmas/grape leaves... weren't the best. Very mushy on the inside, but the variety of olives with... More

The chef cannot serve the special curried goat dish if the item is almost sold out!!! I was served the bottom of the pot with invisible little pieces of meat and bones : Come on chef, wake up, why do you want to tarnish the restaurant good reputation just because of a little greediness?
