I saw this restaurant on Trip Advisor and was a little scared by the "Middle Eastern" description. But my daughter and I decided to try it out. First of all, they do have alcohol, and a very good wine list. That was my first worry when I saw "Middle Eastern." The price for the whole bottle seemed quite reasonable based... More

Salaams food is always top knotch. I've tried many many things on the menu and always been very happy. I love the spanakopita, chicken kabobs, and the coconut chicken curry. The salads are all delicious, as is the bread delivered while you ponder the menu. Service is friendly but sometimes a little slow. Always worth the wait.

My favorite Athens Ohio restaurant. Great Middle Eastern/Indian Food and Nice ambience. Local produce/ingredients are used as much as possible. Owners/operators live locally and participate in and support the community. All around great philosophy!

This is a place with a unique atmosphere. Some of their dishes are amazing, although others are somewhat flat (and the reason for me not giving them 5 stars!). All in all very worth the visit.

we love this place!...food and service is high quality...middle eastern food made deliciously...the lamb is our favorite, no matter how it is prepared... and the bread is soooo yummy!...we travel about 35 miles to eat here...step out of your comfort zone of steak and potatoes and give salaam a try, you won't regret it!...

I love this restaurant and generally order a middle eastern meal, but there are other options on the menu. The food is consistently fresh, well prepared and seasoned--very tasty. The ambiance is great, too, as is the service. There is also wine available for order--you don't have to bring your own and the desserts are wonderful. But, the best thing... More

This restaurant provides a wide variety of dishes, with a middle eastern slant. Service was good. They use a variety of local ingredients. They have a great selection of different levels of spiciness, which is appealing to me because I really do not like highly spiced food. Also have choices for those who need glutten free options.

You'll be pleasantly surprised to find this gem of a restaurant tucked away on West Washington Street. (At one time it was an office supply company; however, once seated is this attractive setting, it is difficult to imagine it was anything but a colorful and artful restaurant.) If you are new to Athens, don't let the parking situation stop you... More

Consistently good food. Great atmosphere and service. Interesting specials, appetizers, and salads. The first place I choose to take out of towners.

This restaurant grabs you from the beautiful handle on the front door, and sends you back out reeling with satisfaction. In between, the colorful and elegantly exotic decor, the mouthwatering scents emanating from the kitchen and the kindly and competent waitstaff waft you to the table. The menu runs to Middle Eastern, Indian, central Asian and Eastern Europen cuisines. The... More
