Great smokehouse

Smell when you come in off the street was awesome! Had the brisket sandwich. Very tender. Sauce bar was nice too. Lots of flavors to choose from. Interior of building was well done. Exposed brick and tin ceiling. Restrooms were clean. Waitress was excellent.

The smoky smell in the restaurant is intoxicating. Had the bbq nachos and wings, excellent. Wife had the brisket sandwich. Very tender and delicious. Kind, courteous and helpful service.

There were 9 of us for dinner. Not one of us really loved our food, several of us didn't even like our food. From the spicy pickles, the nachos, the "caviar" , grilled cheese, no one was raving. Those that ordered the 2 meat combos commented on small serving of meat and that they weren't served hot. The meats were... More

Thank you for your candor. Although we attempt to keep very high standards of consistency, there are indeed rare occasions where our standards aren't met. We have several filters in place that are very effective at preventing plates from leaving the kitchen that don't meet our standards, but when they do, our servers are trained to do their best to... Nothing special. We had no idea when we walked in as to where to go. The waiter said "booth or table?" I looked around and there were a couple tables and a couple of booths. So we say at a booth. I got a turkey Reuben and my husband had smoked turkey sandwich with fries. Food was fine. Thick pieces... More

I got the third rack of ribs and it was perfect!! So meaty and the glazed was mouth-watering. I got mac and cheese and pork and beans as my sides. My 2 year old son loved the mac and cheese and I enjoyed the pork and beans. Ample self-serve sauce station made for some fun experiments with the beans and... More

We love this place. My brother in law David and his wife brought us to the grill the first 10 times. John is a terrific chef. I don't believe a steak can get any better! Period!

On a very rainy visit to Ashtabula for the Beach Glass Festival, we stopped for dinner at Briquettes! Wow! The BBQ dinner we enjoyed was awesome, the restaurant was casual, comfortable . Our dinners arrived speedily and since it was pouring rain that day, we were not in any hurry to leave. Enjoyed the meal, the friendly wait-staff, the reasonable... More

There's a Mississippi Caviar that will knock your socks off; just a hint of heat. I can only speak of the pulled pork, potato salad, and pork n beans; I order it on every visit. The pulled pork is reminiscent of the smoked pork that comes from southwest Louisiana and the variety of sauces are packed with flavor. The potato... More
