It is just not summer until your first trip to Stricklands for there creamy cold ice cream. From plain vanilla to rainbow sherbert to the special flavors of the day. Never been disappointed. Now they have franchised with year round stores, it is best to go to the original by the circle and watch plans takeoff and land. The best... More

Growing up in Akron, stricklands was a staple in the summertime. love the flavor selections. Needs more seating but was worth it while on vacation from Virginia.

Strickland's is a staple in the Akron area. Although I am not sure if it is even real custard anymore, or for that matter, if it ever was, I dutifully visit every summer- and it has to be the one on Triplett- just out of tradition. Back in the days when going to the ice cream stand was a special... More

Go to their website for flavor of the day. Butterrum is my favorite! More outdoor seating would be perfect.

Been here forever and has great daily flavors, you can buy your favorites by the pint or quart. In summer the lines can get long but they go fast. And it is worth it!

I love the atmosphere of Strickland's. They have two 'flavors of the day' and they are always tasty and made right there. You can watch the machine cranking out the ice cream. After you get your choice, you can sit and watch the small engine planes take off and land at the airport right across the street. Great family atmosphere,... More

I paid $3 for an average sized cone. It was good but so is Bryer's and other ice creams that I can but at a store and get more than one serving.

For the longest time there was one Stricklands, across from the Akron Fulton Airport and what was at one time the largest building in the world without internal supports. But times have changed and with franchizing, there are quite a few Stricklands now. If you're new to Akron or have never been to the original, go to the original in... More

I lived in Akron years ago and have many fond memories of going to the original Strickland's for frozen custard. Recently I was in the area for the first time in a long time and had to return – I am very happy to report the frozen custard is still wonderful! I recommend the Butter Pecan, Maple and the Turtle...
