Good food

I am from CA and found this place on TripAdvisor.com. The food was good, but with all the great reviews I was expecting more. I loved the drive-thru (I posted a pic).

Fried okra, crowder peas, mashed potatoes, fried chicken and livers, this was my dinner tonight. The food is absolutely delicious!! Our server was attentive and nice. I will be recommending this restaurant to those looking for great southern cooking!

Dixie 3 is a local family-owned restaurant with good food. The menu consists of a wide variety of food to choose from. They have daily specials. The best thing on the menu are the pinto beans. They are opened Monday-Friday and usually close one week during July 4 and the week of Christmas.

I was surprised at how good this food was. My husband had the fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and cucumber salad and said it was excellent. I had the hamburger steak with sautéed onions, mashed potatoes, and buttered corn. I don't know what they did to the hamburger steak but it was awesome. And the buttered corn was the best I... More

Best hush puppies and fried shrimp we've had in a long time and we're from down east! Friendly staff too! A real down home treat.

What has happened to Dixie??? I have lived in Asheboro almost all my life, and this was the place to go for great food! In the last year the food has gotten worse and worse! It has no taste at all. The meats are tough and the vegetables are absolutely tasteless. I cannot believe they have ruined the best restaurant... More

This is the place to get them! They do an excellent job on both! Drive thru or sit at one of the booths inside and enjoy!

I was in town looking at property to relocate out of the cold northeast. The realtor suggested that I have dinner at this restaurant. It was a kind of nasty weather day for North Carolina so things in general were not as busy as usual. I arrived for an early dinner and was promptly seated and served my beverage. The... More

Nothing fancy just basic home style southern cooking. Great deals. Can tell it is a local favorite because every time we drove by it was packed. Our waitress was a sweetheart too!

After a visit to the zoo we ate here based on Trip Advisor's reviews. The fried chicken was excellent as were the hush puppies. I ordered regular coffee and received decafe. Ugh! Green beans were overall warm with some cold spots. Overall ok as diners go, and reasonably priced.
