My wife and I used trip advisor to find this place. OMG what an awesome place. I had the hogzilla. Out of this world good. Tried some ribs. Killer food. You have to try the corn pudding. The next trip to Asheville will include a stop by 12 Bones.

The to-go service is very quick and efficient. I have yet to be there for a sit down but the atmosphere looks nice and enjoyable. Everything I have gotten is so good. I don't eat beef or pork but the chicken and turkey BBQ is fantastic, juicy and succulent with delicious sides. I recommend the jalapeno grits and the green... More

For some reason the 12 Bones in the arts district (near downtown Asheville) didn't show as an option, but that's the one I'm reviewing. I would expect the food to be the same. It's been widely reported that Pres. Obama goes to 12 Bones whenever he's in Asheville. Politics aside one would expect the president to have his pick of... More

After picking apples this morning we were starved. My husband and I am so glad we stopped for lunch. I was worried the half rack of ribs wouldn't be too filling, I was wrong. Both of us walked away completely satisfied. The service was great, loved the atmosphere, and they served Cheerwine. We'll be back soon!

I got the BBQ plate with coleslaw and green beans. It was fantastic. The coleslaw was vinegar based and I was skeptical but I loved it. The BBQ had great flavor and I loved the sauces. Great for families and dog friendly outside.

The first restaurant this Northerner eats at on any trip to Asheville is Twelve Bones -- I love barbecue and there is disappointingly little competition in Asheville. The pulled pork, ribs, collards, and corn pudding are world class. I gather the restaurant changed ownership within the past year or two, but the new owners have not tampered with a winning... More

Great food. Be sure to try the pineapple habanero sauce. My wife comes for the great sides & I love the pulled pork. Would have given it a 5 but the last couple of times they have had lots of uneatable fat and skin.

My last 3 or 4 BBQ reviews have not been good, but finally, a great BBQ rib dinner... We came here on Saturday for lunch.....only lunch is served, so don't get off the interstate looking for dinner here. This place is extremely popular. We arrived during a little lull and only had 4 or 5 ahead of us, but by... More

Twelve Bones started up in the art district along Riverside Drive. I went there once and enjoyed the decent BBQ. The price, which is a big factor with me, was reasonable. The wait in line, order, pick up your food, and go to a picnic table format was a challange. I walked away saying, "This place is not bad. I... More

The 12 Bones South Store is not hard to find, but its location in a mixed residential/business area of Sweeten Creek Rd is far enough away from downtown Asheville and the main north-south arterial (Hendersonville Rd) to give it the sense of being off the beaten path. Having rather odd business hours, and being ensconced in a recycled Pure Oil... More
