Very Good, Not Epic

The ribs (blueberry chipotle), jalapeño grits, and green beans beans were excellent. We felt the Brisket was good but standard. It was not abnormally tender or moist. We also thought the coleslaw, baked beans, and cornbread fell into the "good but not memorable" category. The young lady taking... read more

I enjoy BBQ and make it a point to sample places in my travels. 12 Bones has a excellent reputation, and they have earned it. From the ribs to all the sides, each dish is delicious. The grits are some of the best I've had. The ribs, which I consider myself an 'expert' on eating, are outstanding. Same for the... More

My fist visit. Ordered naked ribs (sauce on ribs is a greater sin than catchup on a hot dog). They were a bit on the dry side, but good. The sides were very good but did not the cornbread was too dry. I'll be back.

The restaurant is in an old gas station that's been converted, large enough to seat quite a few but small enough to get the nostalgic vibe. We love the Veg plate four sides and cornbread then we also split a half rack. Local beers, delicious meats and sides. Strange hours so check before you go.

I have never been disappointed with this establishment, in 6 years. Last time I had the brisket sandwich, which was awesome. No sauce required ! The collards are cooked just right, without a bunch of stems. The grits are fab. You can get a local beer. Casual and fun place to do lunch. Zero complaints.

Located in an old gas station/repair shop. Side dishes are good for vegetarians. Cornbread is sticky and sweet-yuk. Ribs are served with dry rub and they offer about 5 flavors a day. Fun spot.

For myself, 12 Bones is a Rib Place. I tried their pulled BBQ and it was good, but nothing spectacular. The Ribs, however, are out of this world! For around $14 or so, you can get half a rack of ribs, two sides and a drink. The Ribs (I love the Dry Rub) are my favorite. For me, this is... More

My wife and I used trip advisor to find this place. OMG what an awesome place. I had the hogzilla. Out of this world good. Tried some ribs. Killer food. You have to try the corn pudding. The next trip to Asheville will include a stop by 12 Bones.
