Well, after reading all of the reviews for this restaurant, I had to try it. My wife and I decided to make the trek from Hendersonville to Arden to see if this place did live up to the hype. I love Thai, especially Pad Thai, and am always in search for great pad thai.... and if they have good sushi,... More

Great Thai food.. and very authentic. We eat here once a month at least. I had friends visiting from Chicago where the food is the best in the US ( my own opinion..) and they were impressed with this restaurant. Truly good food.

I really enjoyed the Wonton Soup and the Pad Thai. Service was very efficient. Very convenient to work in Fletcher area.

Seriously, it's that good. Tamarind proves me wrong when I say you can't get great Thai in a place that also serves sushi, or when the staff isn't Thai (that's usually true). For locals it's out of the way, down by the airport (and 5 other Thai restaurants in/near downtown). But Tamarind is consistently better. Pad Thai for dinner was... More

I always use Pad Thai as my base when eating at Thai restaurants. Theirs is very good. The other dishes are as well. However, the sushi isn't th ebest.

We eat here a few times a year and it is consistently good Thai food. I think the prices are a little high if you go after lunch time. For lunch the meal includes soup and salad and is less expensive than the meal costs at supper time without the soup and salad. Beware of the spice level you ask... More

I'm a local, but if you are traveling, Tamarind is close to the Asheville airport. I loved this place when it first opened, but then I had some not so good experiences there. For example, once I ordered Spicy Basil and it had neither spice nor basil and was very different from what I had remembered. I hadn't been in... More

We are locals & enjoy this restaurant very much. The service & food are consistently very good and the atmosphere much better than you would expect for a strip mall. We usually go for lunch, when you can get a wonderful meal for about $10.

Tamarind is a really nice place in a shopping mall. The Thai fried rice and the Pad Thai are very good. When asked how spicy, be careful, if you ask for 3, it is a Thai 3, which clears your nasal passages for about 2 hours. The soup is always good and the sushi rolls are made fresh. They are... More

Tamarind Thai Cuisine is a little hard to find in south Asheville but once you find it, you'll go back again and again! The chicken satay is to die for and the soups are terrific. It took us over 2 years to find a good Thai restaurant in Asheville and this is the place.
