Good food, a bit pricey

The food is always good and while I know that good seafood is never cheap, for the portion size, I think they are a little pricey. If the atmosphere was a little different and you were paying for table service, then I might also feel differently. Great for your familiar fried seafood dinner.

Whether I am having the fish, or a hofman hotdog/coney, it takes me back to bing a kid. Food is always fresh and I enjoy the personal treatment.

I am not a huge fan of fried food, but I cannot get enough of Skipper's. Everything is delicious and excellent quality.

The restaurant was recently renovated and has the charm of a beachfront fish place. The service was good, but it was busy so we had to wait for our order. The food was very good and it was a nice lunch. Come early to avoid the rush!

I chanced across a local eatery in Apex, NC called Skippers Fish Fry. Having a taste for some fish during my recent trip, I gave them a try. Outside a gray building with a vew umbrella tables. Inside the atmosphere of any of those neighborhood fish places out on Cape Ann or anywhere in New England the locals hang out.... More

Not much to say since there are few seafood places in the area. If you want a inexpensive fried seafood plate in Apex its really the only place. Sure NC Seafood restaurant is better but like I said there are very few places for this type of food. We have had shrimp in the Outer Banks that wasn't as good.... More

I had the fried oysters, scallops and trout with a root beer float. For $20 it was small and served on a cardboard tray. The food was pretty good. The service was a different matter. I heard the two young guys working there telling each other how much they loved each other. Try not to be a prude, but I... More

Horrible Experience!!! Stay Away!!! June 14 & 15, 2015 Ordered catfish platter with onion rings and clam chowder. I called the restaurant when I got back to my place and told the night manager how disappointed in the quality of the food. He told me that the butchers wrap continues to cook the food.Really!!! Actually, after eating what little bit... More

My wife and I ate at Skipper's Fish Fry for the first time. We both had fried cod -- I had a sandwich on a sesame seed bun, she had fish and chips. Best fried fish I have eaten. Very large portions. I had to eat the part that was sticking off the edge of the bun first to be... More
