The place is located inside the Citadel village. You just have to look for a signage to locate it well. You can't say that it's a restaurant as you enter the ground floor. Having read a recommendation about this restaurant on a Lonely Planet website, and considering it was in the vicinity of the Museum of Anatolian Civilisations which was my primary goal, I decided to have an evening meal at Zenger. Right in the middle of what you called the 'old town', near the citadel, it offers a very traditional, if not... More

Nice old wooden ottoman house, in the old city of Ankara. Nice traditional atmosphere, the clientele seems all local. Service is good. It is a pity that ghe food is soewhat average.

We ate an early dinner here and liked the food and the view over Ankara at sunset from our corner table. The restaurant is located in the Citadel on the third floor of what appears to be a centuries-old building. It is necessary to walk up three flights of old, narrow stairs to reach the rustic dining room, which would... More

The area around the citidel, inside the gates, has become pretty touristy and gentrified. Had we known the area was so gentrified I don’t think we would have gone up there for lunch. But we were there and finding the Zenger Pasa Konagi was easy enough. The interior was as others note, similiar to a museum and interesting to browse... More

I guess if you visit Ankara for the first time, Ulus is a good stop to see old anatolian style and old city center. This place has a good view of the city in the breakfast room. The breakfast is typical turkish one and the variety is good. The atmosphere is authentic and peaceful. The staff is welcoming and one... More

I have been there on several occasions with friends, during my business trips to Ankara. The restaurant is located on the Ulus hill, in an old house, probably built centuries ago. As you enter it, you feel like entering a museum, as there are exhibited numerous old artifacts, including mannequins dressed in old costumes. The restaurant is at the upper... More
