An old time favorite

Max's was a restaurant that started in 1945 when th original owner first served beer and fried chicken to the American Soldiers at the end of WWII. His claim to fame is how the fried chicken is cooked which makes the skin crispy and meat just falls off the bone. The restaurant tag line is "sarap to... read more

Grandpa takes us here every year in this Max restaurant branch. He loves the chicken, fresh spring rolls (lumpiang ubid), stir-fry noodles (pansit), Oxtail with peanut sauce(kare kare) and so do we. He says you can taste the difference of cooking compared to the other max restaurant chains. He also mentioned that this was the 1st Max restaurant. Grandpa celebrates... More

I think this is the original Max's Restaurant because some of the waiters have been working there for 50 years! For me this is the best Max's, the other branches cannot compare to this one in Scout Tuazon. Always order the chicken because that is what Max's is all about, and dip it into banana ketchup-Worchestershire sauce! The fresh lumpia... More

Max's restaurant is known for it's fried chicken. My relatives love this place and we have been going here since I was very young. I love their seafood lomi, it's the best!

I grew up not too far from this first ever max's location. Family used to come here a lot. 15 years later, had a chance to come back with my own family. Though restaurant had been expanded, the same quality fried chicken that they're known for stayed the same. There's a reason why max's chicken better than competitors, you're tasting... More

The place is the 1st branch of Max's in the Philippines according to my friends. The place is great. Very cozy and good for formal and business meetings. The authentic Max's Fried Chicken still lives on here.. MUST VISIT PLACE!

Had Christmas lunch with family and relatives at this original Max's outlet. Last time I have been here was more than a decade ago. The place has vastly improved and the food remains classic, clean and delicious. We had the basic chicken platter and ordered Kare-kare (oxtail in peanut sauce), Gambas (shrimp in garlic-chili sauce), fried tofu with kangkong (water... More

Was told this was an institution and indeed it is. I had lots of Filipino dishes offered here because I demanded it. Max's is known for their fried chicken but they have lots of other dishes. I had this sour soup with chunks of pork belly. Simply wonderful! The walls are adorned with the old menu with prices from another... More

I met a colleague for breakfast and Max's Restaurant came highly recommended. Well lit, spacious, hospitable staff, decent food, ample parking, and free Wi-fi. In fact, there were a several tables occupied by different groups having their business meetings as well. They are known for their fried chicken but they've expanded their line to offer popular Filipino dishes. Coffee was... More
