An institution

Was told this was an institution and indeed it is. I had lots of Filipino dishes offered here because I demanded it. Max's is known for their fried chicken but they have lots of other dishes. I had this sour soup with chunks of pork belly. Simply wonderful! The walls are adorned with the old... read more

The place is the 1st branch of Max's in the Philippines according to my friends. The place is great. Very cozy and good for formal and business meetings. The authentic Max's Fried Chicken still lives on here.. MUST VISIT PLACE!

Had Christmas lunch with family and relatives at this original Max's outlet. Last time I have been here was more than a decade ago. The place has vastly improved and the food remains classic, clean and delicious. We had the basic chicken platter and ordered Kare-kare (oxtail in peanut sauce), Gambas (shrimp in garlic-chili sauce), fried tofu with kangkong (water... More

I met a colleague for breakfast and Max's Restaurant came highly recommended. Well lit, spacious, hospitable staff, decent food, ample parking, and free Wi-fi. In fact, there were a several tables occupied by different groups having their business meetings as well. They are known for their fried chicken but they've expanded their line to offer popular Filipino dishes. Coffee was... More

My expectations are always high whenever I eat out especially when going to a well known place. We went the other morning partly to have champorado with our meal. It was after 10 am on a sunday and they said they ran out. Excuse me? On a Sunday? It was a downer for us. But we went ahead and had... More

Max's restaurant has always been placed on a hierarchy of preferences when it comes to eating out, or taking home food to a hungry bunch of people.this time around, heading to Sct. Tuazon after a busy day at the clinic, was a nice surprise to find out they have devoted a substantial amount of land for parking, and have opened... More

So much renovation has been done to the place through the decades, but this remains the best place to go to for my Max's fried chicken fix. What's the dif from other Max's joints? Is it a different frying oil being used here? Could it be that the original cooking vat is still in use in this branch? Or is... More

Eating fried chicken at Max's is a Filipino tradition. The chicken is usually moist, but rather on the oily side. They also offer other Filipino dishes, but with varied results. Their soups taste like they were made from instant powdered mixes purchased in a supermarket, their chicken burger is dry and bland, but other Filipino dishes like camaron (shrimp) and... More

This is a chain of hug restaurant offering Filipino dishes.Their most famous dish is their fried chicken. They cooked it in a very different way, the chicken is very tender, crispy and the skin becomes so thin it almost become part of the meat. Another thing to try would be the camote fries which is like french fries but using... More
