Sisters annual bonding vacation

My Sisters and I decided to check out Ugu since it was a very popular place to buy his personal creation of pottery. Once we saw the place, we were carried away by the beautiful and relaxing set up of trees and hits. Indeed we had the impulse to take pictures even of the stepping stones, which... read more

A favorite weekend hideaway since the 90s. Potter Ugu Bigyan does not only produce excellent crafts, he serves a mean lunch as well. From the halaan soup to the kulawong, sweet chili fish to the bbq spareribs. Never fails yo delight.

Visiting Ugu Bigyan's place is like a pilgrimage to somewhere sacred. His place is full of inspiring objects, from the hammocks that dot the grounds, to the sculptor's studio where you can watch the artist and apprentices at work, his house which is full of vintage native adornments, to the gift shop with the native jewelry, bags, pottery, other works... Going to Ugu Bigyan's place is always a refreshing experience. A bit of travel takes you to a most wonderful place where warmth, hospitality and serenity is the vibe. It appeals to your senses ~ the pottery and food are truly feasts for the eyes while the place (and of course the food) is comfort for the mind, body and... More

We have been planning this trip for quite sometime but were only able to push through with it last July 10. We came in late due to the heavy rains in San Pablo but the discomfort from the travel dissipated when we arrived. The tranquility of the place was so inviting. Mr. Bigyan's creations were all so wonderful (a bit... More

Nice place outside Manila, it was about an hour and a half drive from Alabang. Food was excellent, felt price was just about right for 10 people. Seemed relaxing and quiet, gives you the atmosphere of old Philippines. Items sold at the boutique were a bit pricey for locals but of good quality. Purchased the lambanog wine in a basket... More

Food is home-cooked by the master potter, part-time chef, Ugu. Ingredients are fresh and carefully selected and masterfully cooked with the same detail and care the artist puts into his pottery works of art. This is by reservation only since Ugu only cooks for a special limited number of people in a day. Don't leave San Pablo City without stopping... More

I first read about this place in the Viaje Del Sol series. Thankfully, it was included in the must see places recommended to us. It was an 18km drive from Casa San Pablo. It was even harder to find because there were no signs pointing us to that place. It would have been nice if there was a wooden sign... More

Before anything else, this place is NOT located in Quezon City. It should read Quezon PROVINCE. Big difference. Moving on, we did the Viaje Del Sol trip recently and we made sure to reserve a table at Ugu Bigyan's Restaurant/Pottery Place. We read a lot of good things about this place and boy, they were all right. We are a... More

We had a long lunch with friends over good food and good ambiance. Food was served buffet style and it was sumptuous and good. He served salad, fish dish, meat dish, shrimp dish, vegetable dish with coconut juice and salad was also served. The buffet was at P600/pax, very very reasonable for the quality of the food served. While I... More
