My family likes antiques and collects a lot of good ones so the place didn't really feel "new" to me. I also wouldn't say they serve the best food but you come here for the overall experience, ambiance, food, history and service. Servings are so generous you take home with so much baon and pudding was good :)

From a short tour of an old Heritage House inside the Macanang Compund owned by Don Alejandro and Dona Moning. The restaurant is managed by great grandniece. The paintings by Zalameda, Hidalgo and Juan Luna, old furnitures and photos by late Don, his office ( he is a doctor) to their children's ballerina costumes were displayed, to old Radios. We... More

When you talk of great restaurants, people normally mention Makati or The Fort but deep within the city of Manila, La Cocine de Tita Moning exists. It's a restaurant set in a traditional Spanish-era home. The surrounding displays are great throwback to yesteryears. Because its located a stone's throw away from Malacanang, people who dine are are mostly important, prominent... More

This is such a fantastic and original restaurant! You should definitely give it a try. The service is fantastic, I felt I was treated as a VIP guest. The room is reserved, they prepare everything before your arrival and give you a great tour while they prepare the food. To be honest, it wasn`t one of the best meals I... More

The main selling proposition of this restaurant is its AMBIANCE. Dinner included a tour in an ancestral house built in 1936. The house was able to preserve the original structures, furniture and fixtures and even the lifestyle and hobbies of an ultra-rich doctor during the American and Spanish era. It was interesting to see old cameras, an old clinic of... More

You're really missing out if you don't try it. The house is beautiful, the tour is fun and interesting, and the food is top notch. Salad with fresh greens from their own garden, and some of the best paella I've ever tasted. Service is also impeccable and friendly.

Going to Manila if one lives in Pasig City or Marikina is like going abroad...the traffic is daunting and the trip can take more than hour. So one must be truly determined to experience La Cocina de Tita Moning to embark on this journey. And given the long journey, I suggest you call and reserve your table! The restaurant is... More

A priceless experience! I love the food and the ambience. Feels like I'm dinning back in the 60s. The house is very old fashioned. Service is very very excellent me and my girlfriend was entertained by the head server "tining" she use to serve the owner of the house "Don Alejandro" who is now in peace. What an honor to... More

We had our Christmas lunch here last December 2013 and the food was delicious and very Old World like the heritage house which houses the restaurant. One must reserve in advance and for Christmas, set meals were priced at PHP1500 per person (even though you'd pick out a PHP 1000 set meal). What was initially a 6 course lunch turned... More

We decided to tour the Malcanang Palace and combine this with lunch at La Cocina de Tita Moning. Booking is required as no walk ins are allowed.
